The Unraveling Condition of Metamorphosis

I sigh making myself comfortable as I sit on the grass near a tree that provides shade. The nice cool shade wasn't really needed her. The gloomy sky covered with clouds is enough shade for though. In fact, the sun isn't even visible for that matter. I glance at my family even though I am not supposed to who were helping Scot climb the jungle gym. I repeatedly sigh again wondering why I am the only one who has to be put in timeout. I mean who puts their children on timeout in a park with a really cool jungle gym? Apparently, my parent's think its okay. Scot, my younger brother, is at fault as well. He pushed me first expecting me to just laugh it off, well he was wrong. I pushed him back but he fell on him bottom's and began wailing blood cold murder. It was so loud even I wanted to cry along with him. Of course Mom and Dad were very angry at me but not at little Scottie.

Just because he has blue eyes like my Father and blond hair like my Mother with only two teeth in the front does he get away with it or everything as a matter of fact. All three year olds are super annoying, they eat, sleep, annoy, poop (along with pee, we can't forget about peeing), cry like never before, and do adorable things that parents say 'Aw so cute, I just want to take him home with me'. Well they can, if only Mommy would allow it.

My Daddy tends to work a lot over the weekdays when I'm at school just like Mommy sometime, but every weekend we spend it together as a happy family. We go to the park, the museums, amusement parks, restaurants, sightseeing, relative visiting, and the movie theaters. It is very fun until something like this happens. If only I had those admirable traits Scot has like his blond hair and blue eyes along with his puppy dog face that lets him get away with anything and everything. I, sadly, don't have that. Instead, I ended up with light brown hair that's close to red like my Father and hazel eyes like my Mother but I mostly look like my Grandma and let me just say that my puppy dog face doesn't take me too far. If it did, I wouldn't be sitting down by myself thinking about the consequences to my actions.

I wish someone would happen to make my timeout pass by quickly, like an amazing vampire fight. I love vampires. They are the most fascinating creature ever. I'm a hard core fan. My friends also love them very dearly. I'd do anything to meet an actual vampire. Mom says I'm too young to be so absorbed in vampires. To be quite honest, to her, I'm too young to do anything but clean and go to school. I'm twelve not eight, jeeze. Parents need to loosen up sometimes. I mean she doesn't even allow me go buy ice cream from the ice cream truck without having her surveillance me like a hawk. Besides, I'm very intelligent for my age and also very mature at times.

"You know kid; your family seems to be having a bunch of fun without you. You should go join them." Startled, I turn around to find a young tall guy with dark black hair and light hazel eyes like mine, leaning against the tree with his arms crossed. His olive tone skin seems smooth and soft just like mine. The guy had bigger muscles than Dad but they weren't like those body builders on TV shows my mom watches. They're nasty if you ask me. I'm pretty sure he's older than me because everyone seems to be way older than me except for little Scottie.

Should I be talking to him? Mother and Father always tell me not to talk to talk to strangers because I always do. But I have learned that once you get to know a stranger, they are not really strangers anymore. More like acquaintances that later become friends leading to best friends and to a long road of wonderful memories filled with smiles and laughter. I smile widely seeing as he has all the similar characteristics of a vampire; mysterious, tall, dark, and very handsome.

"Are you a vampire?" I question eagerly standing up from the grass. He was first bewildered and abashed but then he rolls his eyes in annoyance.

"Are you kidding? I detest those nasty blood suckers. I'd kill 'em all..."He pauses, but finishes his sentence quickly. "If they were real of course, which they are not."
