Quit stepping on my pride
It's all I have anymore
You don't have to take my side
But your cruelty is uncalled for
You believe that I am wrong
That my life is now a disgrace
But I am going to stand strong
And steadfast in my place
I hear you pick me apart
And you say it's all a choice
But this has been me from the start
And I will not hide my voice
I will stand up for myself
And will overcome my pain
That you contribute to yourself
By being full of disdain
I want to be recognized for me
Even if it's not by you
No matter who doesn't agree
I will be free now and pull through
