  “Morning love,” said the proprietor.

“Are these translators working properly?” Whispered Arthur to With, then to the proprietor, “Er, good morning my good, er, man. I am looking for a recharging unit for an I.W.T.?” proposed Arthur.

“I.W.T. eh, mister lordy. We have many one of it. Rumbo?” called the proprietor to his son.

“Yes,” said Rumbo, “what did we have?”

“I’m sure I can’t properly understand what they’re saying,” said Arthur again to With.

“I.W.T. charging place for the lordy lady,” said Rimbo.

“Right not, going back away,” said Rumbo.

There was an uneasy silence where Arthur, With, Arianne and Fawh looked around the shop.

“May we hope for your communicator?” inquired Rimbo of Arthur.

“Er, you mean this,” proffered Arthur as he gave Rimbo his vocal translator.

Rimbo looked at it and twiddled with the knobs. “There,” he said, “can you understand me properly now?” He asked.

“Why, of course,” smiled Arthur, “why did we have such problems?”

“We speak a slightly different dialect from the local Roughans, we come from the South.”

  “Oh,” oh’d Arthur, “I see.”

Just then Rumbo returned with the charger for an I.W.T.

“Here you are sir,” he said as he plonked the I.W.T. charger on the counter.

“Is there anything else we can get you?” Venn magnets, spook glasses, paradox pills?”

“Oh,” said Arthur, “we may need some paradox pills.”

  “How many bottles?”

  “Er, two please,” replied Arthur.

Rimbo opened a drawer and retrieved two pill bottles from it.

“Ooh!” Arianne exclaimed, “A mark IV Lambadan hair straightener!”
