-Two weeks later-
"Louis Tomlinson, you put me down this instant!" Dannie cried, holding onto the newly-placed bedsheets for dear life.
I gave her a sly grin before I pulled her away from the sheets and ran down the stairs at full force, just barely avoiding crashing into Harry. He shook his head at us, acting as if he were the adult shaking his head at a child playing with a toy, though his eyes told a different story; he was clearly amused by my antics.
"What are you doing to her this time, Lou?" Harry asked curiously, hot on my heels as I ran into the garage.
"Harry, help me! Your boyfriend's being a dick!" Dannie yelled, smacking my shoulder. Her hands were still so frail and boney that the contact didn't do much damage. The pain was minor and I rolled my eyes as she continued to pound on my arm as hard as she could. Harry snickered behind us and Dannie glared at him.
"Is this funny to you, Harold?" She asked through gritted teeth.
"Yes," He admitted, cracking a smile, clearly oblivious to Dannie's anger.
"I am going to kill you when you put me down!" She raged on, smacking my shoulder with a slightly harder force.
We had made it out to the garage and now I'd be able to put my plan into action. I set Dannie down on the steps and stepped back, trying my hardest not to laugh when she smacked Harry in the back of the head.
"Ouch!" He yelped, putting his hand over his head, "What the bloody hell was that for?"
"Next time instead of laughing, help me, dumbass," She responded, giving him a sarcastic smile. He glared at her before directing his attention to me.
"Lou, what exactly are we doing out in the garage?"
"We're going to help Dannie learn how to walk," I informed him, keeping my attention on Dannie. Her eyes widened slightly before they narrowed down into slits.
"I know how to walk, thank you very much."
I arched an eyebrow. "Oh, really? So you've been falling off your bed at 3:00 in the morning every night the past two weeks because you know you how to walk?"
She glared at me. "How are you going to teach me how to walk? I mean, I already know how. My legs just can't do it."
"Probably because you've been sitting on your ass the past two weeks," Harry muttered.
"Excuse me?" Dannie smacked Harry's head again, before turning her attention back to me.
"Haz, be nice," I said, sounding as though I were speaking to a group of bickering first graders.
"I was only kidding!" He replied, putting both his hands up in defense.
"Right. Anyway, we're just going to get your legs used to it. They're probably numb. That's pretty much what the doctor made it sound like. We were actually probably not helping you at all by carrying you around all the time..." I trailed off, suddenly feeling guilty.
She coughed and gave me a sympathetic smile. "Louis, it's fine. Just...just show me what you want me to do."
I was a little surprised by her sudden change of mood, but I let it slide figuring she didn't want me to quetion her in front of Harry. Her and Harry got along fine, it wasn't like that, but when they butted heads on something, it got ugly, fast.
Harry giggled slightly and Dannie and I both shot him a look. He noticed us staring at him and continued to giggle.
"That sounded dirty," He said through his giggles, trying to catch his breath.
I grinned and shook my head.
"Harry? Shut up," Dannie said, staring at him until his consistent giggles completely died out. He gave her a small glare before gesturing for me to continue.
"Okay. Dannie put your left arm on Haz's shoulder. Then put your right arm on mine."
Harry and I both crouched down, allowing her to get a tight grip, before we slowly started to stand up. I could see it was taking Dannie all her energy to keep a tight grip on our shoulders. Harry was wincing at how tight she must've been grabbing him, while I was hiding the sudden pain that had gone through my shoulder. She grunted and I took that as my que to start speeding things up. I wrapped my arm around her waist, Harry doing the same, and we slowly took a step forward. Her feet weren't going anywhere, though.
"Guys, it's useless," She huffed out, getting frustrated with herself.
I ignored her and focused on grabbing her right leg and moving it forward, Harry doing the same with her left. She let out a squeak of pain and I could see the sweat dripping down her face.
"It's. Not. Working!" She shouted, startling both of us and causing Harry to lose his grip on her. He fell to the side and she collapsed on me, causing me to crash to the floor, pulling her with me.
