Gazing at Jonah, I was motionless. Maybe my eyes bulged out of my head as my mind certainly reeled out of control with endless questions. The biggest being, how the heck could he have found out?! The very question made my mind strain with possibilities that I soon denied to be the correct one. The effort to think just brought a dull ache to my head.

"Thought you'd tricked me that day when Heath questioned me on if you were a creature of magic or not, huh?" Stated Jonah with a smug smile. He looked too pleased with himself.

Irritated, I debated what I should do. He knew of me, but how?

"I could answer a lot of your questions you know," Jonah mentioned, now expressionless. "Turn human so we can talk."

His demand sent a shiver down my spine, and caused my hair on my coat to prickle. Somehow I didn't think it was a good idea to be human in front of anyone. I felt so helpless as I'd never be fast enough to escape dangers as a human.

I was human for Josh... But I had no choice and I trust him more then this guy. I didn't need answers to anything, I was meant to be a horse, and that's what I'll forever be. No need to stress myself over useless facts.

When Jonah saw no sign of me agreeing to change he added, "I knew your mother. I wonder if you look like her."

This knowledge brought my brain whirling with excitement. My mother! My foster parents didn't know a single thing about my mother but that she gave me the metal necklace that had name Jauda carved on it. And this man does? Does she live as a horse too? Is that how he found out?

The curiosity of this new information got the best of me. I decided I'll turn human long enough to ask him about my mother and maybe how he found out about me so I don't make the same mistake again. Then I will turn horse again and never be a human in public ever again.

Jonah noticed the prick of my ears in interest. He must have sensed my eagerness for this information as he walked over and removed the halter from my head and walked several feet away with his back turned.

I sighed. I knew running was no longer an option. I can get information from him and maybe spend the night as a human and then go back to being a horse the next morning and hopefully then after we would walk back to the palace and I wouldn't have to ever have the issue with turning human in the presence of others or hide my purple glowing coat at night as a horse ever again.

I was nervous of turning human for someone who knew my secret. But if he was going to get me in trouble and tell others, weather I turn into a person for him or not wouldn't matter. The damage was done. I gazed at Jonah's broad back for a moment, having last minute doubts about becoming human. I forced myself to turn human then before I could change my mind.

Now smaller, slimmer and totally human in a grain sack, I felt very conscious of my looks and how he would react. After checking my hands and willing my overflowing magic down, I coughed slightly, unsure how else to get his attention.

If felt like he turned to face me in slow motion. First his shoulders shifted and I should see his somewhat thick nose before his green eyes diverted to my face. Now turned squarely to see me, he looked at my features up and down.

"I see where your purple eyes as a horse came from," he breathed.

I couldn't help but lowering my eyes in discomfort.

"Though you have that long thick hair like your mothers, and definitely her face. Would have thought you were her if it weren't for your unique eye color and your dark brown hair. You definitely have the beauty she always had to capture men's attentions."

I blushed and allowed my hair to drape in my face to hide it. Who did he think he was to call me beautiful?

I ignored his last comment and asked shyly, "what did she look like?"
