Chapter 5

I woke in the morning after having one of the best nights sleep I'd had in years, I didn't have any more nightmares when I went back to sleep which was a first. I smiled as I woke up, oh my God I felt well rested! I rolled over and saw he was still sitting in the same chair, his legs slung casually over the arm. He had taken one of the pillows off of my bed and was half propped up on it still reading the book, he was well over half way through.

I watched him for a couple of minutes reading intently, "Hi" I mumbled slightly embarrassed.

His head snapped round to me, "Morning, you sleep ok?" he asked smiling.

"Actually, yeah I really did, thanks" I said a bit sheepishly, I can't believe that he stayed awake all night. That's actually one of the sweetest things anyone has ever done for me!

"No problem" he grinned swinging his legs off the chair and standing up stretching, holy crap I couldn't keep my eyes off of his body, he really was perfection. I closed my eyes quickly so I didn't keep perving on him, I'd only feel like crap about it later when I started feeling guilty.

"Think I could maybe borrow this? So I can read the end?" he asked holding up my book looking embarrassed.

"Hey no need to be embarrassed pretty boy, you can't beat a good vampire novel, I've got the other three as well if you want them" I said smirking.

He laughed "Hey I'm not embarrassed I'm just waiting for the teasing to start" he said grinning.

"No teasing, that's my favourite book" I said honestly.

"Right, well I'm gonna go grab a shower" he said walking to the door, jeez the back view is just as good as the front, he had an incredible ass.

"Ashton" I said making him stop and look at me, "Thank you" I said quietly looking at my feet.

"Anytime" he said before he walked out the door.

I got up and took a nice long shower I didn't bother drying my hair or putting on make up, I never did. I threw on a pair of loose combat style jeans and a black tank top with a black baggy sweatshirt over the top and went downstairs for breakfast.

As I walked into the kitchen I saw Ashton sitting at the breakfast bar stuffing himself with pancakes, the kitchen staff were falling all over him. Sarah the waitress was flirting with him shamelessly, her cleavage almost popping out of her shirt that was never normally undone like that.

I grabbed a plate and put some pancakes on before adding some fresh fruit juice over the top, "Thanks Mary" I muttered as I plopped down next to Ashton.

"What the hell did you do to your breakfast?" he asked turning his nose up at my plate.

"What?" I asked digging in.

"That! You spilled your drink on it!" he said disgusted pointing at my pancakes swimming in orange juice.

"Hey don't knock it till you've tried it pretty boy" I said frowning at him jokingly. He reached over and cut off some of my pancake, I slapped his hand making him laugh, as he stuffed it in his mouth.

"Holy crap that's good" he said still chewing his mouthful, I burst out laughing and passed him my glass of orange juice which he poured over his pancakes quickly. "How the hell did you think of that?" he asked with wide eyes stuffing them in his mouth like he hadn't eaten in days.

"I spilled my drink on my breakfast once and couldn't be assed to cook anything else" I said shrugging, he just laughed and shook his head.

I noticed that Sarah was giving me daggers which I ignored and ate my breakfast in silence. "So Ashton, I have a few hours off today, would you like to do something?" Sarah asked him flirtily.

He frowned "Err actually I was hoping that Anna would want to hang out with me today" he said turning to me.

I choked on my breakfast making him laugh. "I'm busy today pretty boy" I said honestly, I had things I needed to do.

"Yeah what are you doing?" he asked curiously. I swallowed loudly, nosey ass, this is why I don't like having guards they're always trying to get into things that had nothing to do with them!

"Look Ashton, I've got things to do, it's not really any of your business" I said rudely standing up and throwing my plate roughly into the sink where it smashed. "F*ck it!" I shouted picking the pieces of plate up and throwing them in the trash.

"It's ok Annabelle, I'll clean that up hon" Mary said smiling kindly.

I sighed "I'm sorry Mary" I mumbled walking out quickly.
