Chapter 1 - A Good Start
Lilly's POV
What can I say? Maybe I should say that my life sucks. That's a good start. It started when my Mother got attacked by a werewolf. I don't know why, maybe it was a rogue. Who knows?
Well, at the time my Mother was heavily pregnant with me, and the werewolf that attacked her also bitten her so, I guess my DNA was tainted by the wolf bite. I'm not exactly sure how all that happened, but it did turn me into a werewolf. Not that I have a problem with it, because I don't. I love my werewolf side, the thrill of shifting and the joy of feeling the fur cover my body and shake in the wind when I go for a run. No, it's not me with the problem. It's my father. He disowned me the minute I was born. Why, you ask? Because of my eyes. When I first opened my eyes they were an unnatural golden colour, so my Father knew I wasn't human.
It wasn't just ignoring me that my dearest Father used to do to me. It was worse than him neglecting me, at times. For example, the first time I shifted, my Father aimed a shotgun at me. Yes, he was going to shoot his own daughter. He's also hit me numerous times - but werewolves heal quickly, so that's an advantage I had. But it isn't the physical things he does to me that hurt the most, it's the fact that he's never had an ounce of regret for the things he has done and how he would continue to do cruel things to me.
Luckily, I had my loving Mother and caring brother to help me whenever he crossed the line.
Not that they could stop him - he's too strong for them and I couldn't find it in me to hurt him, after all, he was still my Father.
Eventually, the day came where I couldn't take anymore. I packed my bag of important items and clothing and walked into the kitchen. My Father, fortunately, was at work and wouldn't be home by the time I'd leave. I walked up to my Mother and brother, Dylan, and told them I was leaving. They understood why but it didn't mean they didn't put up a fight in an effort to get me to stay. I told them I was leaving no matter what, and I guess they eventually saw that my mind was set. I said that I would keep contact with them and that I may see them in the near future, and that I loved them. My Mother cried as I walked to the door and just I reached for the handle she stopped me.
"Wait!" She cried. I turned around to see her running up the stairs. I stood there with my phone in my hands while my brother stared at me. I couldn’t take the silence that was slowly suffocating us, so I walked up to him and hugged him.
"I love you, Dylan. No matter where I go, you will always be my big brother." I murmured as the tears started to fall down my face. He hushed me and rubbed the back of my head.
"Don't cry, Lilly-bear, please don't cry. You'll always be my little sister, too. I will always be in your heart as you will be in mine." As I pulled away, he opened my hand, placed something in it, and closed it again. "I love you, sis. Be safe." I unfurled my hand to see a wad of cash. When I looked up, Dylan was standing by the doorframe and my Mother had entered the room.
"It isn't much, but I just wanted you to know that I love you and you will always be my daughter, and I will always be thinking of you." She rambled, and then pulled me into a hug. She then proceeded to hand me what appeared to be a travel bag filled with belongings. "They are everything that is important to me and your brother. We knew one day that you decide to leave so we filled it with memorable and important things. Before I forget, there's a locket in the pocket.
"Also, I wouldn't want my daughter wandering the streets so I planned for you to go and live with a good friend of mine. She's also a werewolf and has a daughter the same age as you. Okay, I’ll shut up now and let you go. I love you." I laughed and walked out of the door to freedom.
Before I could even walk down to the edge of the road, my brother called to me.
"I've packed the directions to the house in the bag. Her name's Julie, and her daughter is called Maddie. Love you!" Then he closed the door. I chuckled as I walked away with my two bags and phone.
This would be a good start of a new life.
It's short, but I just wanted something to start it off. The next edited upload will be longer. Bye :)
