The cold air was normal to this child and her father.
“Margaret, please, do not go so far, stay near me” Told the father to his only child, but she kept on jumping in the snow.  He laughed watching his daughter have fun, it made his heart warm in such a cold place. They lived in Alaska, the city that is controlled by weather, or so they say. They were a two people family, since her wife had moved and left them. He decided to move to Alaska, start a new life in a very new place. Soon it was going to be his daughter’s 10th birthday, and he did not know what he could give her. A pony would not survive in weathers like these, a dog sounded like a great solution, yet he was scared that wolves could kill the girl’s present. He did know that there were wolves that were human, but not all of them were. He was a young father, yet a very good one. His clean beard helped him on these cold weathers, but he admitted that he did not adore his look. His hair was long, neck long to be exact.
“Daddy, daddy, look, look!” shouted the girl at her father, while she was hiding behind a rock
“What is it, sweetheart?”
“Wolves eating”
“Oh, well look at that”
“We shouldn’t disturb them, should we?”
“No, No”
“I like wolves, daddy”
“You do? Very much?”
“Yes, Yes!” Said Margaret without taking her eyes off the wolves
“Then, what if I told you something”
When Margaret heard that, she instantly took her eyes away from the view of the killing.
“What is it daddy, tell me!”
Margaret looked more and more excited while she waited for her father’s answer
“well, sweatheart…” You could feel her heart beating faster and faster. “I’m a wolf” and her father picked her up and moved her in the air, as if she was a plane or a roller coaster. His daughter laughed while she whipped around the air.
After a long walk, they decide to go back home since the sun was hiding beneath the sea and mountains. In the walk back home, Margaret’s father was carrying her, for she had fallen asleep. He felt happy in this day, he felt like nothing could ruin this day. Suddenly he begins to hear things around him, steps and noises. He stopped walking and began to look around, but found nothing out of the ordinary.  He then began to hear the steps come a lot closer, and closer, and closer. When he was now feeling worried, something came out of.
“Ah, it’s just a fox, just a red fox” he whispered to himself, releasing a great load of air.
The sun was now under the mountains, and the night was the owner of the city. The father was now walking faster and more desperate. He was not scared, but he was worried that if something came out, it could hurt his daughter.  When he was out of danger, and close to the city, he let all the worries fall behind him. He walked and smiled at most of the people who were out at this night.
He heard a voice in a distance behind him, a voice that shouted something.
“Stranger!”
He heard it, but did not recognize the voice. When he turned, the woman was right in his face.
“Weeeeeeeell, looks who’s here” Said the woman
“Hey, what happened?”
“What do you mean ‘What happened’” she said mocking his voice
“Why are you here, with me”
She stopped laughing, and got all serious.
“We have a very important meeting says the leader”
His mind was left thinking, why would she need them in this time of the month. The moon was hidden behind clouds.  He turned around, leaving her standing there, and walked towards his house.
He now stood in the middle of the snowy woods, where no one dared to go, where no one desired to be. He stood with his hands crossed together, and his neck really tight on his scarf.
“Brother, why are you not in our form?”
“I’m not very scared of what may come” spoke the father of Margaret
“Everybody, together” screamed one of them.
The leader stood in front of the circle that was made. All of them were on their wolf forms, except one, the father of Margaret, also known as Connor. The leader of this pack, was white as snow itself and had dark yellow eyes. What surprised many of the wolves around the world, was that the leader of the pack was a woman.
“Well, you may all be asking, why have I asked you here in this time” the leader spoke in wolf form through their minds.
“There is a threat running around our forests, and many others” said the leader walking around in the center.
“It is said that there is a pack running around, killing and taking away ownership. We need to stop this, we are meant to be in packs to defend our cities and our honor, I do not want a foreign pack destroying this life. Today a group of ten will head out south, and I want you to tear out the necks of all those wolves who you do not recognize or see that are threatening. Connor will be the leader of this first pack, and I want all of you to dispatch at twelve. So get your stuff ready, say goodbye to your family and head out, got it?”
Connor was not very pleased with the decision his leader was making. He did not desire to leave his daughter all alone on these grounds, but he had thought it would be the perfect time for what he had long awaited.
When he got home, he went to his daughters room, and stared a t her while she slept. He felt he had done a great job as a father, and he thought it was time his daughter learned the ways of the family. He went towards the bed, really careful and quite, and woke her up softly.
“Sweetheart, I have to go”
“What? Why? Where?”
“Aunt Letty will explain, I love you, now go back to bed, she’ll be over soon ok?”
She then began to cry very silently, hiding it from her father, but he still noticed. That was the first time that Connor felt that he had done bad as a father.
Connor ran out the door, angry at everything in life. Angry at the pack that was killing for fun. Angry that he had to leave his daughter. Angry cause he had done wrong for the first time. Angry because he did not know if he would come back.  He ran through the woods in his human form, but as he began to grab speed, he began to change slowly. He runs faster and faster, his brothers begin to arrive one by one. He runs and looks at them, and they all look at him, a look that said a million words of trust. He ran faster than the others, and when he left them behind, he stopped in a giant rock that was in the middle of the woods. He looked at the moon, and when it had been clear of all the clouds, he howled, and you could hear the million other wolves howling before him. “I will bring the heads of all those wolves, and I will come back to you, Margaret”
