not in our stars

I heard my alarm bell ring, loudly in my ear and my eyes shot open in excitment. Today was the day i became Ellie. Ellie that didnt care, Ellie that could do what she wanted, when she wanted. Ellie that could finally fit in. 

I had recently dyed my hair from my natural mucky boring brown to a vibrant red, It was down to just above my hips and backcombed around the crown of my head. I had it all clipped to one side, hanging in loose curls. I applied my heavy charcoal black eyeliner to my waterline and coated each individual eyelash in a thick layer of black mascara. I put on my consealer, powder and my bronzer, and put on a peachy pink lipstick to calm the look down a bit. I put on my tiny, short bodycon skirt and my white shirt, unbuttoning the top button, and loosly tying my tie round my neck. I rolled the sleeves of my blazer up and pulled my shoes on grabbed my bag and started my walk to school.

I met Chloe half way up my road, waiting impatiently on the end of her driveway. She had long bleack blonde hair, curled and slightly backcombed. She had bright green eyes and perfectly straight teeth. She wore the same as me, we had planned it the night before. Me & Chloe would start this fresh. 'Ellie baby, you look gorgeous! We totes need to go out tonight babe! Where shall we go, Marco's? Ziggies? or shall we go to Evergreens shopping mall, up manchester? we can get the train if you want? it only takes 2O minutes?' I rolled my eyes and said, 'why dont we just go up town?'  She laughed and said 'Okay' as she shoved in a headphone and carried on walking. We were now in year 1O, and i wanted to be known. In year 7, 8 and 9 I was just a little tag-along with Kirah , Sophie and Marie. Chloe is new to the school this year, but we met in the holidays and she was expelled from the last school she was at so I new i could get this reputation as long as i stuck with her. We had got close over the holidays, but she influeneced me in ways I wish she hadnt. She smokes, steals, has sex with pretty much everyone. I don't want to be like that, i just want to be known. Ive always been left out, always been on my own pretty much. We carried on our normal conversations about where to go tonight, wether or not she is going to steal that new foundation they are bringing out. 

When we got into school I immediatley saw Lizzie, one of my friends, well they used to be, but i wanted to change. She glanced at me with a shocked expression and walked- well strutted over. She looked at me and said 'Well you look different.' with no expression in her voice whatsoever. 'Nice greeting, liz.' i looked at her almost in discust. 'See you've changed quite a bit. You look like a slapper.' she said with a slight smirk. I glanced at her in her shabby clothes that looked like they hadnt been through the was in over a year. 'see you havent changed, you look like a homeless person.' i said back, looking her up and down and then sighing. Why am i being such a bitch? She looked at me in complete horror, she looked like i had really hurt her. She turned away and walked over to my other friends. Whatever, I have chloe now. I walked into Maths, i had a new teacher. He glanced at me and did a double take, I presumed this was because of the way I had changed my appearance practicly broke all the school rules. I went to the back and sat next to Kyle, he was slim, medium height, he had dark brown hair, with deep brown eyes. He was attractive in a weird way. He smiled and said 'Hey Ellie' i just nodded at him and said 'alright' under my breath. 'You look so different babe! Still its nice to see you' he said as he threw his arms around me. I love Kyle, he is such a sweetheart sometimes. He is a bit over-protective when it comes to me getting close to other boys. Its a bit weird, considering ive never been out with him. I shoved all my thoughts to the back of my head as my teacher coughed loudly to get the class to be quiet. It didnt work. A couple of girls let out some giggles,  they obviosly found him attractive. He was quite pale, had light brown hair that was straight and quite long. He looked young, and was tall and slim. The boys carried on talking about Call of Duty, Fifa 12 and Minecraft. I rolled my eyes at them disscusing the highest scores they got. How immature.
