Chapter 37

A month past with no sign of the Doctor, but I wasn't worried.

The next day of the ball, I told Ginny everything - even the alien part - and sent Harry a long letter saying the same things. Ginny didn't believe me and called me mad. We haven't talked much since. Harry on the other hand surprisingly didn't find it difficult to accept it as truth. He wrote that if witches and wizards exist, why couldn't aliens? Which I guess was a fairly logical conclusion I guess.

He told me much more as well. Like the lovely home he bought for him and Teddy not far from the Weasleys and that he got a diamond ring and was planning to propose to the love of his life, Ginny, before the end of the summer. He mentioned Ron in every letter, assuring me he was getting over it a little by little. Everything seemed to be mostly good with everyone and I haven't felt the slightest regret yet and wasn't planning to.

With no more male distractions, I past my NEWTs with usual ease. The last days at school where sunny bliss and complete peace of mind. Never did I relax as much, sitting underneath a tree by the lake, reading piles of books.

On the very last day of school, after breakfast, I carried my luggage down the Entrance Hall where Professor Flitwick took attendances and leaded us to the carriages pulled by thestrals outside. I shared one with Ginny and Luna - who assured me she believed in my story. I looked up at the castle, breathing in deeply and smiled, thinking about the amazing years I had in it. I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned to Luna.

"Is that you alien boyfriend over there?" she said, pointing a tall thin man with spiky brown hair, standing by the edge of the Forbidden Forest.

He waved to me and my heart started to pound in my chest. About time!

Before the carriage started to move, I jumped off and ran across the ground, getting many weird looks by the other students, but who cares? When I finally reached the Doctor, I threw my arms around his neck and almost made him fall to the ground. He held me back, burying his face in my neck.

"Let's go," he said softly, taking my hand and pulling me into the woods.

We didn't say a word, just walked hand in hand until we reached the TARDIS. But before he opened to door to let him in, he leaned on the blue box and looked down at me.

"Are you sure you made the right decision?" the Doctor asked, observing for sights of doubt on my face.

"Yes," I smiled.

"Why?"

"Because I love you more than anything."

He beamed and leaned down to kiss me.

“Wait, you never told me how old you were," I pointed out. It was something that was on my mind lately.

"Oh... hum, 905. Old enough for you?" he nervously laughed.

I looked at him in disbelief. How could he possibly 905 years old?!

"And you thought an 887 age difference wasn't something to mention before?"

He shrugged.

"When you're as old as me, age is just a number."

"I guess that does seem logical," I admitted.

"So!" he said opening the door to the TARDIS and kindly let me walk in first. "Where to first?"

I placed my luggage next to the stairs and started to think as he took my hand and pulled me up into the platform to the controls. Where to, where to...? There were so many placed! The whole universe at our finger tips! And plenty of time, a life time. I never wanted to leave his side.

"You know, you pick. I'm sure you have a list of things you want to show me," I chuckled.

"You know me better than I thought!" and like I said, he took out a list out of the pocket of his jacket and started skimming through it. "Does the birth sight of Limbogardius the Amazing sound good to you? I've heard its breath taking!" he suggested.

"Let's go!" I agreed.

He pressed some buttons, dancing almost around the controls as I sat in a seat for the ride. He lowered a lever and we started shaking wildly.

I smiled, looking up at the impossibly high ceiling, staring at the tube in the middle as a loud engine sound roared in the room.

"Brilliant!"
