I slammed the door to the house, making Phoebe who was listening to her ipod jump and take her earphones out.
"Okay, what's got you all pissed off now?" She asked, wrapping her earphones around her ipod and placing it next to her on the couch. I flopped down next to her on the couch and folded my arms across my chest.
"Harry Styles, that's what has me pissed off." I replied, thinking back to the rehearsals. He wasn't even supposed to be here until tonight, and I was supposed to be at the house and wait to meet him until tomorrow. Then he had to go and suggest to hear me runthrough the song a few times, and when I did he'd always stop me to correct me on the notes, the pitch and the words.
"Since when do you know one fifth of the hottest British-Irish boyband out there?" Phoebe asked, raising one her eyebrows. I turned to look and her and rolled my eyes.
"He's my vocal coach, or 'a person to just motivate you and help you along' as Demi puts it." I said, using air-quotes when needed.
"Wow. I don't like Demi Lovato that much but she does have good tastes in vocal coaches." Phoebe said, nudging me with her arm. I sighed and took out my phone - which I was surprised we could have during X Factor, but they checked our messages every week just to make sure we weren't telling anyone about our expierences or giving out cheats or hints to others. I never really used my phone unless I needed to look something up or to play Temple Run.
"You're lucky your mentor is L.A Reid, he seems really cool." I muttered, clicking on the icon for Temple Run and started a new game.
"Yeah he is," Phoebe said and looked over my shoulder to see my phone, "Really!? You need to stop playing that. You have a serious addiction problem to that game."
I laughed but cut my laughter short when my phone froze and started to vibrate indicating I got a new message, "What? No one ever texts me." I mumbled to myself and hit the home button on my iphone and clicked on my messages. One new message from an unknown number.
'Hey it's Harry. Dems gave me your number so we could stay in touch, and talk about our rehearsals and such. So save my number .. just don't give it out to anyone okay? Thanks. -Harry'
I clicked on 'Save as contact' and typed in his name and then hit save, then I hit the bar to reply in and started to type. Once I finished I hit send and watched my message pop up in the green bubble below Harry's.
'Okay. So will Demi be at those rehearsals too?' Was what I texted him. I waited for a few seconds for his reply and then my phone started to vibrate again and showed his message in the white bubble below my message.
'Sometimes. You can also contact me through twitter. @Harry_Styles but you probably already knew that.'
I rolled my eyes at his cocky text and hitt he home button then stuffed my phone back into my sweatpants pocket., "I'll be in our room if you need anything."
Phoebe gave me a questioning look and I motioned for her to take her earphones out, she nodded and pulled them out, "I'll be in our room if you need anything." I repeated. She nodded and put her earphones back in and I started to walk up the staircase to our room that was labeled 'Female Artists'. I looked around, there were two bunk bets then there were two single beds up against the wall by the windows, I was the bottom bunk for the bunkbed to the left, Phoebe was above me. This was basically how our sleeping arrangement went:
Bunk on left wall: Top- Phoebe Holt, Bottom- Me.
Bunk on right wall: Top- Alexandra Harps, Bottom- Leighton Bright
Single bed 1: Grace Harrison, Single bed 2: Jessie Lymes
* Alexandra, Leighton and Grace are in a band together. (Four Flavors, the four standing for their different nationalities.) *
And may I add, it's a pretty small room. Then there was the Male Artists, the four guys who were in the band To The Xtreme whose names were, Josh, Blake, Christian and Samuel. Then the two solo arists Jake and Cameron. But, all in all we were pretty much one big family -- minus us being blood related. But we do fight with each other, get on each others nervs and act like siblings but there are some goods times we have.
I crawled up onto my small mattress that was covered by a hot pink blanket that the X Factor people had put on all our beds in the female rooms. I opened up my draw-string bag I had brought to the X Factor and pulled out one of my favorite books 'Just Listen' by Sarah Dessen. I've read the book at least 15 times, but I never get tired of reading it. I was on page 18 of the book when their was a knock on our door. I debated on whether to get up and get the door but decided against it.
