I wanna give in,

I wanna go out.

Been looking around,

I've finally found,

The rhythm of love,

The feeling of sound.

~Beat of My Heart- Hilary Duff

"This is your first time?" I demanded, almost choking on my water. Oh my god. It’s his first time being on a date? That can’t be possible. I mean, he’s a complete flirt! Then there are all those girls who talk about him giving them the best date ever. I guess it could be them talking about him, in, um, bed, but if it is, oh gods, I think that’s worse. If he just sleeps with a girl without getting to know her… Oh my god. “Because if all the rumors are true about you, um, sleeping around, and this is your first time on a date, god help me, I will strangle you,” I declared, voicing my thoughts.

Kaden looked offended. “What, no! It’s not my first time on a date, it’s just the first time where I’ve actually had to really talk,” he explained. I resisted the urge to repeatedly bang my head on the table.

“Oh, that makes it so much better,” I replied with a dry smile. Kaden offered me a sort of half smile that looked more like a, surprise, surprise, smirk. I gulped when I realized exactly how awkward this might be. "Um... I'll be right back." Quickly, I stood up and dashed across the restaurant to where the sign for the bathrooms were. Going into the right one, I checked to make sure it was empty before leaning on the door and taking deep breaths. Okay, just breathe. It'll be alright... I hope.

I pulled out my phone and looked through the contact list. Who could I call?

      Kallie? Definitely not.

      Brett? Even worse.

      Clark? Possibly, but preferably not.

Annabelle? Maybe, but again preferably not.

Mom? Hmm, let me think about, no.

      Dad? No.

      Miranda? No!

Come on, there's gotta be someone! I scrolled through the list again. Dagnabit! Most of these people are evil, or have no idea what's going on. Then, a name got my eye. Devon! Maybe he could help. Sure, I didn't know him that well, but maybe it was worth a shot. Hesitantly, I clicked on the name and lifted the phone to my ear, darting a quick look around to make sure there was no one else in the bathroom.

A couple moments later, he picked up. "Raine?" He said sounding genuinely surprised and not the least bit annoyed.

"How'd you know it was me?" I asked, ever so slightly mystified.

"Well, there's this thing that was invented, it's called Caller ID, and-" Devon started.

"Okay, I get it!" I interrupted, turning slightly red. "Is this, um, a bad time?"

“Nah. I mean I have COD on pause, but nope, it’s not a bad time. What’s up?” He asked.

“Um, well, I have this problem, and I was, uh, wondering if you could, uh, help me,” I stuttered, looking around nervously. He’s gonna think I’m crazy. I mean, who does this stuff? Yeah, maybe I am crazy. To my surprise, Devon started laughing. "What?" I whined, slightly annoyed.
