Journey to Hogwarts

When his parents could no longer be seen from the "Hogwarts Express" window, Albus Severus Potter placed his trunk carefully against the wall. He sat there alone in the compartment thinking, "Will the sorting hat really take my choice into account? Well, if dad said that, he must be telling the truth. Dad never lies....."

"Al?" a voice called. "Are you in there?" and the compartment door opened and looking in stood Rose with her brown bushy hair, looking slightly frightened.

Albus' face lit up as he saw Rose enter.

"Rosie! Am I glad to see you! Which compartment were you in?"

"I was 3 compartments down. James' somewhere in the front causing trouble; Are you alright? You look sick!"

"I'm alright, just not too comfortable."

"Don't worry, I feel the same but I bet we'll have a great time at Hogwarts!" said Rose as she took a seat opposite Albus.

The two of them sat together for a long time. Both lost in their thoughts, wondering what adventures would happen at Hogwarts. How would their adventures be? Like their parents? Thoughts came and went through their minds and they came back to their senses when the lunch lady came with her trolley.

"Anything kids? Food's here! Anyone hungry?" chanted the lady. She was a young lady with long wavy brownish hair.

"I wouldn't mind a few chocolate frogs." said Albus.

"Me too! Let's buy some, shall we?" suggested Rose when she realized how hungry she was.

After 5 minutes of browsing the trolley, their arms were soon full of chocolate frogs, Cauldron cakes, Liquorice wands, Bertie Bott's every flavour beans, Mars bars, and Cotton Candy.

They ate and had lots of fun until both their stomachs could hold no more.

"Burp" burped Albus.

"Eww Al! That's disgusting!" said Rose as she threw him a look of disgust.

"Sorry Rosie, couldn't control it." Albus replied cheekily.

“ Al,  I think you'd better get changed into your robes. We should be arriving at Hogwarts soon.”

"Ya, meet you back here Rosie. I'll be back soon!" yelled Albus as he rushed to the changing rooms.

While waiting for Albus, Rose cleaned up the place of all the wrappers and then lay back to enjoy the last moments on the train. While waiting, James stormed in, panting in his robes and his face covered in sweat.

"Hey Rosie, where's Al?"

"He has gone to change." said Rose as Albus came walking in. Seeing James made him jump in shock and James turned around.

"Hey Al! just thought I'll inform you that there are dementors on board! OoooOOOoo" said James and walked out of the compartment giggling.

"De.m.mme..n.torss? On t..the tt....train?" whispered Albus fearfully.

"Don't worry Al, he's just pulling your leg! Remember it's supposed to get very cold if they are here!" said Rose thoughtfully. "And look! The train has stopped! We've arrived!”

When Rose and Albus opened the compartment door, the path was blocked by excited first years and important looking prefects, head boys and girls. Albus spotted Victorie Weasley and gave her a feeble smile which Victorie returned. Albus couldn’t help admiring her extraordinary beauty that she had inherited form her Veela mother, Fleur. Once they were out off the train and outside in the cold, they heard a loud gruffy voice yelling,

"Firs’ years! Over here! Any more firs’ years? Follow me now!”

Rose, Albus and other first years followed Hagrid’s calls. Pushing, and tripping they followed Hagrid down a steep and narrow path. They turned the corner and saw a great blake lake and on top of a mountain, there was Hogwarts with its many windows sparkling in the dark night sky.  A fleet of boats came into sight as Hagrid yelled,

“No more’n four to a boat!”

Rose and Albus  stepped cautiously into an empty boat soon followed by an arrogant looking boy with shiny blond hair and a small girl whose hair was braided.

“Everyone in? Right then – FORWARD!” boomed Hagrid.

Immediately the boats lurched forward and drifted peacefully across the lake. Albus was enjoying the cool and gentle breeze when  he noticed the blond hair boy staring at him intensively.  Albus turned and look at the boy who quickly looked down at his feet. Albus thought he look familiar: Blond hair, pale eyes, pointed face….. This must be Draco Malfoy’s  son, Scorpius!
