Chapter 2

Will did not end up going home.

He had let his mind wander, and instead of going to his apartment he found himself standing outside the bleak building that was the police station. Saying that the station was in need of a new coat of paint would have been putting it lightly that the place was in bad condition, the place pratically screamed neglect. The station was abuzz with noise; people rushed in and out of the building, lawyers in suits, police officers, and criminals. Compared to the new modern buildings that towered over the station, it looked like a mess. The place smelled distinctively of urine and other …. things. It was the unique scent that could only be linked to and described as New York.

Despite how young Will was, being just twenty three years of age, his thoughts were mostly centred around his job. Most of his days were spent at the station. He woke up in the morning to the thoughts of being late for work, during the afternoon he was in work, and it wasn’t unusual for him to spend late night sat his desk; slaving over cases and files. But Will didn’t give his non-existent social life another thought, stuffing his hands into his deep pockets, he walked into the station in pursuit of finding an answer to the mystery of the suicides.

Inside the station's appearance wasn’t much better; the walls were a depressing greenish tint that resembled seaweed. The linoleum floor was scrapped and cuffed, it looked like it was as thin as paper from years of endurance.

Upon walking to his desk he winked at Kelsey, the chief's secretary. A small blush made its way to her cheeks, causing him to grin back at her. Not that there was anything going on between Kelsey and Will. If anything Kelsey thought of him as a little brother.

Will wasn’t stupid; he knew that he had a certain charm with the ladies. With his dark hair and startling grey eyes he was every girl’s heart throb, his job also added to the allure.

Will was only two steps from his desk when his captain's voice boomed loudly, causing him to sigh. “O’Neill! My office now!”

The captain was a very blunt and straightforward, which meant that if he called you to his office it was only for one reason.

The moment Will entered the office, the captain launched into his rant.

Calling this a chapter.. no calling this half a chapter is embarrassing, but I had to update and I have tests coming up. GCSE's to be specific so instead of writing and making myself finish I spend my time freaking out in a little corner.
