The Girl With The Loud Mouth And The Quiet Girl Standing In The Corner.

On bright green school bus

Swaying from side to side,

The girl with the loud mouth

Shouting out her mind,

Her harsh hurtful comments,

Slicing through the air.

The quiet girl standing in the corner,

Her heavy bag weighing her down,

She daren’t look at anyone,

For fear of being

The scenery outside,

Whizzing past

The girl with the loud mouth,

A smirk hiding her true expression,

Her skirt too high,

And her top too low.

The quiet girl stood in the corner,

Her loneliness making tears blur her vision,

Her skirt too long,

And her shirt too high.

Every student listening to the girl with the loud mouth,

Every student ignoring the quiet girl stood in the corner,

The girl with the loud mouth,

It’s too early in the morning to cry or shout,

Yet at 08:20 both are happening,

The girl with the loud mouth,

Her face orange and red,

Caked in make-up,

The quiet girl stood in the corner,

Her face pale and natural,

Freckles sprinkled across her face.

Their lives couldn’t be more different,

Yet they’re from the same world,

In the same country,

So near and so far apart,

Same uniform,

Different ways of wearing it,

Same rules,

Different attitudes to it,

Those two girls,

The same but oh so different.
