  Chapter 2

Welcome and Goodbye

 It’s been six hours and we’re still driving and I was bored. Juliette on the other hand have used magic on the car, she made the car to drive its self. Juliette told me about how to use my magic but I always failed to use it, it was like I don’t have any powers like Juliette. I tried to make one of the trees burn like Juliette did but nothing happened and so I decided that we should stop and talk about the world that I am going to live in.

   “Darklight is like a medieval place; brick road, houses like you see in fairytales, and carriage, and castle like you see in a fairytale and many more but we wear modern clothes. We also have grocery stores, Mall, pharmacy, hospital, school and almost everything we need. The only difference in the human world and here is the people” Juliette said

   “Are we going to study?” I asked

   “Yes of course”

   “I bet you have the law where Darklight creatures are not allowed to fall in love with a human”
   “Correct”

   I yawned and stretched “So. Do vampires have powers too?”

   Juliette stared at the window “Yeah. They have abilities too for example is Prince Raphael, he has the ability to use lightning and the land and he also has the ability to lift things with his mind and since he’s a vampire, he has the ability to erase minds. Vampires have the ability to erase minds and it will only work to the weakest creatures”

   “You mean fairies and humans?”

   “Yup but if the fairy is strong enough the fairy can resist it. The vampires can also erase the minds of the half breeds, witches, werewolves, and shapeshifters if they are weak”

   “Okay, so anything more about vampires?”

   Juliette smirked “A lot. Royal Vampires have four powers including the mind erasing and normal vampires only have two but if the vampire is strong enough then it can have three powers. Vampires drink blood but they can also eat normal foods but only sometimes” she said “Let’s go to witches. Witches are learners and just like you see in a movie, witches cast spells and if you’re strong you can cast hard spells and cast spells by your mind and it’s been a long long time since we have that strong witch”

   “Who?” I asked

   “Selena Aretha. She’s the one who ever succeeded using hard spells made by our witch ancestors” Juliette cleared her throat “We’re here!”

   I look at the place “It’s a forest. Didn’t you told me that our world is medieval?” I said

   Juliette sighed and said “w’peh”

   The forest opened as if the door to Darklight just camouflaged into a forest

   “W’peh is the Egyptian word for open” Juliette explained “We used Egyptian word to open the passage because most of the people who go to the forest were English speakers. Humans can go into the forest as if the door is invisible to them.”

   We entered the Darklight world and just like Juliette described it. Darklight world is medieval mixed with modern. The people outside were looking at us as if they knew that I am new into this world. I stared at the people. All of them were handsome and beautiful.

   “How will I know which is which?” I asked

   “A vampire have fangs, fairies have wings, and the others. Well instincts. It will just come to you naturally just wait. If you meet a werewolf, you’ll just know it’s a werewolf.” Juliette said

   “Do other creatures have royalties too?”

   “Yes” Juliette put her hands on the stirring wheel “Our Queen is Queen Kia. And according to my mom, queen Kia got the throne when the true queen died without an heir. We also have a legend to that, it is said that the crown will glow when the rightful owner wears it”

    “Wow that’s interesting”

    The car stopped. A woman who looks like Juliette in an old version was waiting for us outside and a guy who I think is a witch too. When we got out of the car, Juliette took off her contacts and revealed her violet eyes then she hugged the woman then she smiled at the guy and punched him in the soldier playfully then I cleared my throat. She forgot to introduce me.
