The Only Way

Daina wakes up and sees ghosts surrounding our camp area, she's about to give a scream, but she covers her mouth, before she could scream, she shakes me awake and my eyes widen when I see how many ghosts are surrounding us. They are surrounding us, but Daina sees that they haven't found us yet, they're just going round our place, still searching for me and Daina, Daina tells me to keep quiet and I do, once all of the ghosts turn around and go the opposite direction that the ghosts went. Once Daina thinks that we're deep enough and the trees with properly conceal us, she stops and puts me down and rests me on a tree. We both stay there still hoping that the other ghosts won't find us, we breath really fast, our hearts are alo pouding fast, we try to calm each other down, but nothing works, and if the ghosts find us again we will have no choice but to go back to the bridge, dodging the other ghosts. Daina lifts her knife, I bet that she feels that the other ghosts are near, I breath heavily and Daina holds her knife more tightly than I've ever seen her hold, she lifts it up slowly and I widen my eyes looking at her movements almost dashing off to kill the other ghosts, but luckily she slowly lowers the knife down and I give a sigh of relief. Daina checks out a small gap between the trees and sees the ghosts going away in a different direction, but they go very slowly, very slowly, it would take a few hours for them to get far enough for us to get back to the bridge unseen. Daina and I look together which should result into a bump, but me and Daina's face joins together since she's a ghost and I'm a human, I go through her head and stay in the position that her head is in. We break apart disconnecting the connetion between our heads, she gives me a knife that she magically took out of her back, I grab the knife, it's actually my first time using an actual knife to kill people or ghosts, but I wonder that if they're ghosts then how can I actually it them, because they're ghosts so I can't touch them. 

 Daina can read my mind, she takes the knife and cuts herself, this shows me that it is special knife that can cut though ghosts, I take it back and smile. Daina lifts her knife up slowly and I do the same without making a sound, we breath heavily and slowly praying that the ghosts won't come back and find us, Daina lowers her knife and I sigh, I almost got a heart attack. I hear footsteps and I bet Daina can hear them too, she stands up quietly, I follow her, she holds up her knife getting ready to attack, she looks like she's about to dash away, when a ghost is in sight she throws the knife through the hole and hits the neck of the ghost, she quickly gets down. I grab my knife and I look out the hole as well, I see one more ghost, I throw the knife at her and it hits the face, I have a surprised look on my face that I actually hit the ghost. I get worried thinking that the body of the ghost will still be there if the other ghosts come back they will see the kill, but when I look out of the hole I see no ghost, when I turn to Daina she knows exactly what I'm wondering, she fades away then comes back, now I know what she's saying, when ghosts die they fade away. Now we have no weapons, Daina gets out a knife and gives it to me, she takes out one for herself, I smile and keep the knife near me. When Daina turns around I get a tear running down my cheek, when she turns around I quickly turn around as well trying to hide my tears that run down my cheek, I wipe them off while I'm turned around. I turn around and I look directly into Daina's eyes, Daina looks at me in curiosity, I look down and Daina lifts my head, more tears drip down and Daina wipes them off, the feeling of her cold fingers sooths me a little. She can tell that I'm hungry and thirsty, but that's not why I'm crying, I'm crying because I suddenly remember the good times in my past, but I guess Daina doesn't know anything about them. Daina hugs me unexpectedly and while she hugs me I cry endlessly without stopping, tears run down my cheeks constantly that creates a stream of water going down my face, Daina shushes me, I know what she's doing, she's making me quiet so that the other ghosts won't hear me. I get out of the hug and lie back on a tree still having tears run down my face, I calm down, but the tears never stop coming. 

I sleep while having tears drip down my face, Daina starts to have watery eyes while seeing me cry so hard, I try to stop crying, but only a few tears stop coming out. 

It is a full moon tonight and the breeze is cool, before me and Daina drift off we hear howls, Daina has a worried face and she rests in hesitation.
