A Snowy Dream
"Ahchoo!" I blew my nose into the tissue paper that was given to me. "You don't have to accompany me through my torture, Seira..."
"But it was my fault that you gained a fever..." Seira pouted her lips. "I need to take responsibility."
"Don't say that so casually!" I shot back, fuming. "And..." I turn my head to face the headmaster who was sitting at the side of my bed, busy blowing a steaming hot blueish-looking congee. "Headmaster, please...I'm fine, so I don't think I need anyone to look after me."
"Aw...Angelique, let your dear father do something for you for once..." he pouted his lips.
"Hey!" Seira yelled. "Why can the headmaster care for you, but I can't?"
"Because I'm her father," the headmaster said in a matter-of-fact tone.
"Well, I'm her - "
"Please, the two of you," I cut in. "If this goes on, I'll really never recover in time for the welcome back party."
"Which reminds me," said the headmaster. "There is a last minute change in plans."
"What?" Seira bulked, her eyes widening.
"The venue for the party is changed to the Assembly Hall instead of the beach nearby the academy."
"What? That means I can't show off my curves in that brand new bikini I bought yesterday!" Seira cried out.
"Anyway, what happened to Plua? I haven't seen her in a while," the headmaster asked, attempting to change the subject.
"Oh!" Seira snapped back into attention. "I just checked with Yukari and she doesn't know."
"Who's Yukari?" I asked, curiously.
"You don't know who is Yukari?" Seira asked and I shook my head. "She's Plua roommate in the female dormitory. Shirayuki Yukari, she's a Yuki-onna."
"Well, I hope she's alright," Seira sighed.
"Anyway, you girls have fun! I got some headmasterly business to tend to," the headmaster smiled and stood up. "Get well soon, Angie..." he planted a feather-light kiss on the forehead before pulling Seira along with him and left.
"Wait!" Seira cried as the headmaster pulled her along the arm towards the door. "I thought you told us to have fun?"
"Get well soon, Angie! Hope you recover before the party!" the headmaster called out to me and I smiles, waving my hand at him as he dragged Seira along with him.
As the door shut behind them, I let out a sigh of relief - relieved that they are finally gone and that I finally could get my rest. I let out a yawn and cat-stretched into my bed sheets and gradually I fell into sleep.
Unfortunately, it was not a dreamless sleep...
It was snowing...pure-white snowflakes were falling down from the heavens above...the sky above was so blue it looked like it was reflecting clear sparkling blue water...
It was the festive season and the streets were busy and crowded. Adults were busy yelling out once-in-a-lifetime bargains and the children were playing around and some teenagers were sulking at a dark corner, obviously up to no good.
Some families were also out, enjoying themselves in the company of one another, laughing loudly as if they have never in a long time. Some couples were walking together hand in hand as they look at each other in a lovey-dovey manner.
Everyone was enjoying themselves...they looked so happy. In the middle of the crowd, I saw a little girl...she was wondering around aimlessly...she looks lost...
The girl had shoulder-length blonde hair that shone so brightly, it could blind one's eyes and her big eyes were a shade of teal blue...she looked just like an angel...she looked just like me...
"Mummy...Daddy..." the little girl mumbled as she turned into a corner...
