Chapter 1

There is not one thing I would want to change in my life. Everything is perfect as if it was bound to happen from the start. It was if I was living in the fairytale world.

My mother and my father is the king and queen that ruled all the land with an iron fist.

My dear boyfriend is the Prince Charming that is always there to protect his love.

My friends are the lords and ladies of high society in our kingdom.

And I am the princess of it all. I am royalty and perfection.

If I haven't said it before or you just forgotten, my life is perfect, and I plan on for it to stay that way for a very long time.

I smiled into the mirror as I stared at myself. With a small wink to my reflection, I began to run my fingers through my thick head of blonde curls while admiring the beautiful creature that stared back at me.

"You, Alycia Collins, is living a fairytale." I breathed out with my smile widening.

"Oh how everyone wish to have your life."

With a dramatic sigh, I threw my hair over my shoulders and stood from my spot. My gaze never leaving the mirror as I inspect my outfit.

Another weekend is over, and another one just happen to come along. I am one of those odd students and enjoy going to school. I mean, what can be more fun then going to a place where everyone seems to loves you? There are abundant praises at school and there is nothing I love more than it. I don't mean to brag, but my senior life in high school is a bigger deal than all four years for most students.

Of course I am happy to go to it.

With one more look in the mirror, and one more shake of my blonde hair, I smiled at myself again, then headed out of my room.

It was like an everyday pattern for me in the morning: wake up, look pretty for the rest of the day, and then go back to sleep.

Life couldn't get any similar or even better than that.

I walked down the halls of my large house and skipped my way down the stairs. I could hear voices coming from the kitchen and I made it my next destination. When I got in a posed against the door frame and grinned down at my family.

"Good Morning!" I yelled throwing my hands in the air. They all stared at me for a moment before rolling their eyes and continuing what they were doing.

Well then...

As always my mother was sitting down on a stool next to the kitchen counter with a cup of coffee in her hand and the newspaper in the other. I walked towards her and leaned against the counter in front her blocking the view of the paper.

"Good Morning, Athena." She sighed with a small smile on her face. "Can you move so I can read the paper?"

"I don't know? Can I?"

She gave me a look and I raised my hands in defense before pushing away from her.

People would always say I am a spitting image of my mother, and that I have the same personality. To me, my mother is hard headed and doesn't listen.

I am clearly nothing like that.

"Mom, I said for the thousandth time to call me Alycia."

God, I hate my real name. It's so plain and so old. Who goes around with the name Athena anymore? I know the name came from the goddess Athena but I'm sure even her hated that name as well.
