Chapter 13

"TIFFANY!" Brianna skipped into my room.

"Go away," I muttered into my pillow.

"But Tiffany, dear, it is a BEAUTIFUL day! Observe," she drew back the curtains and sunlight poured into the room, and my eyes. I hissed and pulled the covers over my head.

"Go away," I repeated, louder this time.

"I don't think I will," she said, sitting on top of me.

"I can't get up if you're on me," I pointed out, peeking from under the covers. She thought for a second, and realized I was right. She stood up and pointed to the door.

"Out," she ordered, with a weird glint in her eyes. Uh, oh...

I sprinted out the room as fast as I could before she could to anything. I heard laughter from my room. I went back inside, seeing Bri on my bed, clutching her stomach from laughing so much.

"What's so funny?" I asked.

"You just randomly burst out of the room, your face was hilarious!" she giggled.

"Well, you had that weird look on your face, like you were going to eat me or something," I defended myself. She stared at me as if I had grown another head.

"Who do you think I am? You should know by now that I only eat blond-haired people, not brunettes. They taste funny," she said sarcastically. I rolled my eyes.

"Ha ha. Get out. I'm going to get dressed," I ushered her out of my room and locked it behind me. I fell back onto my oh-so-comfortable bed and closed my eyes. Just five minutes... Bri won't notice my absence...

"TIFFANY! WHAT THE HELL IS TAKING SO LONG?!" Bri screamed, pounding on the door. I leaped up, glancing at my alarm clock. Shit, I've been sleeping for twenty minutes!

"Uh, I had trouble finding clothes," I lied, putting on a random outfit.

"Uh huh," she didn't believe me. I ran a brush through my hair and exited my room, face-to-face with an annoyed-looking Bri. I grinned sheepishly.

"The point was for you to wake up," she snapped, poking my shoulder, "Now we're going to be late."

"Late for what?" I asked, panicking slightly. She looked taken aback.

"You don't... remember?" she asked. I frowned in confusion.

"Don't remember what?" I echoed her words. She smirked and shook her head sadly.

"Nothing," she replied, turning away. I ran after her.

"Seriously, Bri, late for what?" I asked again. She shrugged.

"Uh, I think my car is honking... I'd better go check it out," she dashed down the stairs, leaving me confused.

That was the worst lie in the history of worst lies. 'My car is honking'? Where the heck did she get that from?

"You okay?" Reagan asked, walking over. He was a good friend of mine. I looked up at him.

"Is there anything important going on today?" I asked. He tensed a bit.

"Uh... not that I know of..." he replied cautiously. I glared at him.

"Don't lie," I scolded, "Now tell the truth,"

"Der... oh, I think my mom's calling!" he dashed away. I crossed my arms. That was the oldest lie in the history of old lies. I sighed and trotted down the stairs.

"HEY GIRL! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Amelia shrieked and ran over to me, enveloping me into a huge hug. I froze.

It was my birthday?

What?

When she released me with a large grin, I ran over to the nearest calendar and check the date.

June 14th. Today. My birthday.

How the hell could I have forgotten my birthday? [A/N: I acutally did once... WHEN I WAS SEVEN. How was that even possible? I mean, I was TURNING eight, and ALL little children are like counting the days down until their birthday! I'm such a weird child...]

"Baby, are you okay?" Westley asked from behind me. I turned around and smiled widely.

"Couldn't be better," I replied, and meant every word. I had my friends and boyfriend with me, on my birthday. For the first time, it would actually be celebrated.

A thought popped into my head. I went over to the phone and dialed a number. It rang a few times, when someone picked up the other end.

"Hello?" a tired-sounding Jason asked.

"Hi Jase," I whispered into the reciever. I felt happy, so, so happy.
