Heart Shaped Sapphire

Sapphire awoke to the sound of her alarm going off and Miley Cyrus' voice filled her ears straight after. Her eyes fluttered open and she stretched out, turning on her side to look at the four foot teddy lying next to her, "Today's the day Chester" she said while yawning, "I'm just hoping that the weather there won't be too hot"

Rolling over, Sapphire forgot that with Chester on her bed, it only left her a small amount of space to move. Consequently, she fell off the bed with a loud thud.

"Urgh!" she groaned, rubbing the back of her head and squinting through her eyes at the very bright, sunny room. Sitting up, she slowly opened her eyes and looked again at Chester, "I guess that's my queue to get ready". Reaching for the alarm, she turned the volume up to the maximum and danced her way into her ensuite bathroom to get ready.

Downstairs, Naomi was cooking breakfast for Sapphire, herself and her husband. Michael was making porridge for their son Caleb who sat in a high chair at the end of their dining table; banging his spoon on everything he managed to hit and giggling sweetly.

"Do you want to tell your daughter to turn that music down, or should I?" Michael asked, laughing.

Naomi flipped the eggs over in the pan and turned her head around to face him and smiled, "She's your daughter too don't forget"

He laughed again and started to help his son eat his warm porridge while trying not to get in the way of his chaotic drum solo, "Do you really think this was the best decision? I mean, she's never been to a public school before, I'm just wondering how she'll handle it. Think about it, the work she's going to have to do to catch up; you've got to remember she isn't the smartest of kids and the fact she's going to meet other girls her age for the first time, not to mention the boys".

"Darling, she's sixteen, she can't be our little girl forever. Plus, if she doesn't like it, we can just hire a tutor and she can be homeschooled again no problem" Naomi finished the eggs and placed them on a plate along with slices of bacon and toast.

"I love you" Michael came up behind her and put his hands on her waist, kissing her on cheek.

Naomi laughed and turned her head, giving him a quick kiss on his lips, "I love you too but come on breakfast is done, I better shout Sapphie so we can have breakfast and finish packing" she laughed again.

Michael went back to feeding his son, taking the plates with him too, placing them at the dining table.

Sapphire was done having a quick shower, she washed her hair and body and came out of her bathroom with a towel wrapped around her slim frame.

"Sapphire! Breakfast is done, hurry up before it gets cold and for Gods sake, turn that music down!" Naomi shouted up the stair case.

Sapphire didn't hear her mother calling her per usual and started to get changed. It was mid summer and being in Minnesota meant that it was only around twenty degrees centigrade but nonetheless, she picked out mid thigh denim shorts and a black tendril bandeau top seen as though it would probably be around thirty degree's in Georgia. She wore a long golden doubled over necklace and gold sandals and left her long blonde hair to dry naturally which meant that it would turn out slightly curly.

Although Sapphire wasn't as content as she wanted to be with her looks, she didn't apply any makeup, "What's the point?" she thought. Even though she was in fact very beautiful; she inherited her fathers sparkling bluish-green eyes which stood out with her tan complexion. She inherited her full lips off her grandma, her mother said and her rather small nose off her grandpa.

Sapphie always complained her bum was too big and her boobs were too small but her one or two friends assured her otherwise. She didn't really have friends, she just had acquaintances; never had sleepovers and never had days out with them but even so, she turned out a happy little bunny; taking care of her seven month year old baby brother Caleb when need be and taking him to the park, to go shopping for new clothes and taking him to a couple of sessions of playground a week, she was glad.

Naomi and Michael weren't expecting Caleb, so when Naomi went to the doctor complaining she hadn't had her time of the month for at least three months, she was surprised when he told her she was pregnant. They were both ecstatic. Another month later, Michael lost his job after a little misunderstanding and things were tough around the house; Sapphire lost out on a couple sessions of tutoring and Naomi became exhausted having been the only one to bring the money home, even though she was four months gone.
