My first day’s been alright so far, it did just start anyways. I met some of my old friends from grade school. They’re now all jocks, popular, but basically still the same guys as before. Especially my old best bud Callen. He was always a short, chubby kid, but he really changed. Now, he’s about my height, muscular, blonde hair and brown eyes.
“Hey, is that you Eli? Eli Grey?” I hear him say to me as I grab something out of my locker.
I spun around and faced my old best friend. “Oh, hey man! Nice seeing you here. How have you been since I left?”
“Good, but even better now that you’re back! To be honest, I missed you. You were like my brother!” He grinned.
He pulled me in for a man-hug and we caught up with each other.
“So you should hang out with us later, Eli. You can meet some of the other guys and I can have my best friend back by my side.”
“Yeah, sounds good. I’ll meet up with you later.” I waved as he walked down the hall.
I saw that I had a free period today, so I decided to head to the library. I got into writing not too long ago and I wanted to get some of my feelings out on my favorite, leather-bound note pad.
The aisles in here were really long, with huge bookcases up to the ceiling. So without looking down one, I just bolted through to the corner next to the windows when I fell down. Someone just decided to lay their legs across the entire aisle for me to trip over and drop all my sketches onto the grimy floor.
My first day here and I almost die.
“Ow! What the heck!” I shouted out. I fell onto my knees and chest and no matter how tough I tried to be it still hurt.
“Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry!” A girl cried out. She then came over and helped me up. My eyes traveled to her face and she seemed somewhat...familiar. Whatever, I need to just get out of here.
“No, its...alright I guess.” I grunted. ”Watch where you put your legs next time.” Ok, that was really bad.
“What are you talking about? Watch where you’re going!” The girl argued back.
“Whatever. Just please leave me alone, ok?” I pleaded nicely. I then gathered all my papers and then she offered to help me.
“No, I’ll help you pick up your stuff, it’s the least I can do. And by the way, I’m sorry.”
Then, something weird happened. We both looked up at the same time and basically looked into each other’s souls. I felt some sort of connection with her. Also, I have to admit, she was very beautiful. Her black hair all in her perfect face. Flawless skin, deep, dark brown eyes, and rosy pink cheeks. I was pretty much mesmerized, and that’s never happened to me before by a girl. Ever.
After a few seconds, I noticed those brown eyes getting wider, and wider. Kinda freaky to be honest. She gasped and stepped back a bit.
“Whoa, how do you know my name! Are you my stalker?”
“No, you fool! Who would waste their time stalking you anyways?” she crossed her arms. “I’m guessing you don’t remember me, huh?”
I took a closer look at her. “Sofia...Torres?”
“Yup, that’s me.” She raised an eyebrow. “What brings you back to Greenville anyways? I thought you were gone for good years ago.”
“Well, I’m back and it’s all because of my horrible father.”
Concern filled her eyes. “Horrible father? What’s going on?”
