Layers of makeup cover plastic and skin

starving themselves to become nice and thin

People think there is nothing wrong

because everything there has to belong

There is happiness and smiles that don't reach their eyes

and on the inside the person cries

No matter what they do, they still feel the pain

is there anything there they can even gain?

Even as a shining star

they still hate who they are

Pretending to be something they're not

and discovering that not everything can be bought

Everything in their lives seem so unreal

sometimes they forget what they are supposed to feel

When realization finally arrives

they have the need to redo their lives

The life they once had starts to shatter and brake

when they learn everything had been fake
