on my way!

Echo immediately got into his car and drove to where Bree was. He didn't need any more instructions. He knew which restaurant Bree meant; he also knew what that SOS meant.

She was on a date with a jerk and she's asking for his help to take her away from there, again.

* * *

"So after having been voted as the Most Valuable Player last year, girls were literally throwing themselves at me. One of my professors even tried to hook up with me! But since I don’t do married chicks, no matter how freaking hot they were, I politely refused her. And believe me, it was one of the hardest things I ever had to do..." The guy in front of Bree kept on talking while she was just sitting there, picking at her food, occasionally uttering replies such as “yeah”, “really”, “uh-huh”, “that’s cool” for the past hour of their Boring date, with a capital B.

Seriously, the guy was just too full of himself. A total dick, no less. He was handsome, that was undeniable. He was hot, no question. But was he smart? Was he sensible? A big fat NO! Hell, he has been babbling about his narcissistic self for the past 60 minutes—no, make that 65. She couldn’t even get a chance to talk! He would pause for a split second to make sure that she’s still listening and then he would resume talking. He might as well have hosted a talk show, for Pete's sake!

What a pity. He really looked hot; Bree was actually looking forward to hooking up with him. Of course, after getting to know more about each other and a few more dates until she's sure that he is "The One". But after tonight, she doubts that she'll ever want to cross his path again.

'Why isn’t that guy here yet?' She thought.

Whenever something goes wrong with her “Finding The One” dates, she would text Echo to ask for help. She had texted him more than 15 minutes ago, he should already be at the restaurant by now.

WHERE R U?! I’M DYING HERE!!!

She texted him again. She was dying to get out of this lousy date with a self-proclaimed hot stuff named Jeremy who couldn’t stop praising his awesome being (again self-proclaimed).

But before she could get more impatient and start tapping her stilettos on the floor, someone suddenly jerked her right arm and pulled her up.

“What are you doing here?” He asked her, full of envy in his eyes.

She couldn’t find the right words to say. “I-I-uh…” She stuttered. Shit! She should come up with something good!

“Who are you man? Get your hands off my girl!” Jeremy said, pushing his chair off the table and standing up, looking intently at the guy who suddenly appeared out of nowhere and harassed Bree.

“Your girl? Why, aren’t you an assuming bastard! I am this girl’s boyfriend, not you.” The man answered.

“Boyfriend?! Bree?” Jeremy looked at Bree for an answer. He was waiting for her to deny it.

“I-I’m sorry Jeremy. He’s my ex—“ She was cut off by Echo.

“Yes, I am her ex. But we are going to get back together.”

“No we’re not!” She swiftly denied. But she was surprised by what Echo did next.

He kissed her—the kind of kiss that bruised her lips. He combed his fingers through her hair and pulled her close, his tongue delving into her mouth. She decided to play along. She kissed him back with the same fervor that he possessed, putting her arms around his neck and pulling him in even closer. Gosh, she almost forgot how good Echo's kisses were. Now she couldn’t stop herself from enjoying the feel of his lips against hers, his tongue rubbing against her own. She bit his lower lip.
