Chapter.. well, one.
Sitting in the police station with her mum and sister, Abigail thought about what would happen next. Would she ever see her mother again? Would they still be so close as always? The memories of how it was came into her mind and she thought about the day this happened to her father, Sally and Howard were the perfect couple, the perfect "Bonnie and Clyde". Sometimes she'd pray to God to send her a new family, with loving parents, unlike the "Bonnie and Clyde" parents.
All those perfect moments with Howard and Sally seemed to be, all just a dream she couldn't wake up from. As she looked at her mother's beautiful blonde hair, she wished she could be the one sitting there, in her mum's shoes. Live fore this 10 year old, was truly hell.
An older sister, Mishay, who always bullied her, taught her that everything bad was always something good. Her insecurity always got her down, people looked at the sisters and thought 'What sweet little girls', till of course they saw and heard who their parents were.
"Mum, um, what's gonna happen now?" Mishay, her 12 year old sister, asked their mother. Looking back at her sister, Abigail, seemed worried. She hadn't been here a lot, she had been in court with her father and mother, but never quite understood what happened.
"Well sweeties, I'm gonna go somewhere and well I won't be back for a while." Her mother said hugging them both. As little Abigail's sister started crying, she looked up at her mother and sister. She felt like crying too but in a way, she felt bad crying infront of her family. Like she had to be the one to comfort everyone.
"Where are you going then?" She asked trying to hold back her tears. She had been good at hidding her sadness and her tears. And was always around for her family and comforted them by making them smile and laugh.
"I did something bad and I'm going to prison for that because I need to be punished." Abigail's mother said wiping away her own tears.
"Why can't you just stay here?" Tears started running down her face as she asked her mother the question she'd been thinking about all the time. "Will you come back?"
"Yes, I will come back my angel. And no, mommy did something really bad with your dad, he was punnished for it, now I must be punnished. But God's always gonna be there for you guys and you just need to pray that we all get together again." Austin, their step father, hugged them both from behind and kissed them.
As Austin hugged their mother, the police officer called her name. Time was up and she wouldn't see her children for a month after she'd been taken away.
"I love you guys so much. Always remember. And, please try not to fight, it hurts me so bad when you two do that. And write to me all about your tests and the boyfriends, even thought I'm far, I'm always near. Just look in your heart." Sally paused and wiped Abigail's tears, then her own. "Remember our song, listen to that when ever you miss me. I love you two."
As Sally was taken away, Mishay cried really hard. Abigail wanted to cry, but couldn't, she had no tears, she didn't understand what had been happening.
"Come on you two, your dad's gonna be mad if you're not home on time." Austin said taking Abigail and Mishay out of the room to the car.
Walking out, Abigail looked back at her mum and mouthed the words "I love you". But Sally was gone. Holding back her tears again she got into the car with her sister and step dad.
With her head hurting, and heart broken she sat by the window and looked out to the trees and the cars passing by. A 10 year old girl, who's lost so much, and didn't understand, is what she was, Abigail Van Der Woodsen, was hurt in her short life, and was ignored, but never did she think this would actually happen.
Thinking about her mother and father, she almost cried. Wipping her tears, she sat up right and looked at her sister in the front of the car with her step dad.
"When are we seeing her again?" Abigail asked Austin trying to hold back the tears. Mishay was already crying though.
"When your dad says I can take you to her and when the prison says we can go. Maybe in a month, we're not sure Sweety." Austin said looking in the mirror that showed Abigail's face.
"Okay." She replied still trying not to cry with the music playing.
Noticing that they were almost home, she sat up right again and kept in the tears more. Still remembering all the memories, the Saturdays with mum, and the jokes they played on each other, she started silently crying. Quickly wiping her tears away again, she smiled and opened the door as the car stoped slowly.
