Chapter 5

The rest of the week went by smoothly. Today was thursday and I have a shitload of homework but other than that, my life was perfectly normal. Which bothered me. Who wants a normal life anyway? Its boring. Winter and I became very close and it felt as if she was the sister I never had.

On the other hand, I was slightly nervous about the race. It was only 2 days away and I was beginning to mentally prepare myself for whatever it is will happen. Currently, Winter and I are in my house deciding which movie to play.

"Let's watch this one." Winter said grabbing John Tucker Must Die from the pile of movies scattered on the floor of my room.

"Alright. It's very funny." I agreed. I slid the disk into my DVD player and pressed play.

**

An hour and a half later, and the movie had just finished. I wiped away a few stray tears that had escaped when Winter and I were too busy laughing during the movie.

"Do you want something else to drink?" I asked her, trying to catch my breath. I could tell she was doing the same. "Not quite." she had a mischevious glint in her eyes and I simply raised a questioning eyebrow at her.

"What the hell are you thinking about Winter?" I asked suspiciously. "Your parents are out of town right?" she asked grinning while I nodded. My parents had taken Jonah to New York for his checkup at the doctor.

"Do you know where your parents keep their alcohol?" she asked slowly. I knew what she was thinking and I was definitely up for it. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" I asked whilst grinning. She nodded her head slowly and we both rapidly got up and headed downstairs.

I jogged through the house until I stopped in front of my father's liquor cabinet which he kept in his office. When Winter came back with two crystal glasses and ice, I grabbed the bottle of Brugal rum and filled half the glasses with it. Even though we had school tomorrow, it didnt stop us from having a little fun.

Afterwards, I made sure that everything in the cabinet looked untouched and we walked towards the kitchen to pour coke into our glasses, creating an exquisite Cuba Libre.

"Cheers!" Winter said as we clinked glasses and chugged our drinks. The alcohol burned my throat as I swallowed, leaving a delicious sour taste in my mouth. We playfully slammed our empty glasses on the counter as I yelled: "MORE!" and Winter nodded eagerly.

We fixed ourselves another drink and didnt stop until we reached our 5th drink. By then I was feeling tipsy and laughed at anything that happened. By ourselves, we had drank a whole bottle of rum! Wow! My vision was a little bit blurry but I could handle it. I was no lightweight but I couldnt say the same for Winter. She was currently running around the house, talking to inanimate objects.

"Spongebob? Are you there? HELLO? I need you to make me a Krabby Patty!" she was yelling at a pineapple while knocking as if it had a door. I bursted out laughing and fell to the floor, that was hilarious. Still laughing, I grabbed Winter's iPod and hit the shuffle button. Immediately, Let's Go by Calvin Harris ft Ne-Yo began to play and I moved my hips and body to the beat while loudly singing along.

Winter immediately stopped talking to the pineapple and began to dance. With the pineapple. Oh my God, she really is shit-faced drunk. Thank God Winter was sleeping over tonight because if she arrived at her house in her current condition, I was sure her parents would murder her. It was only 7:00pm and we were far from tired.

Adrenaline was pumping through my veins as I danced all over the house, with Winter following me with the pineapple.

"Let's play truth or dare! Kat please? Can we play please?" she asked, her face contorting into a pout and her eyelashes batting rapidly. "Alright, lets play!" I exclaimed. "You go first Kat. What do you prefer, truth or dare?" she asked, while grinning. "Dare." I concluded after several seconds.

"I dare you to go outside and you have to dance and sing to the first song that comes up." she challenged. Oh, it was so on. She knew I couldn't walk away from a challenge, I guess my pride didnt allow me to do so.
