Liam's POV

"How did it happen?" She whispered, running a hand through her hair. I hesitated and Jacob punched me in the back. Hard. I gritted my teeth.

"Well, you know when we tackled that guy, and told you to go help out Jaden?" She nodded and glanced over at the guy in the cell. "He started lashing out and such, and caught your dad across the throat. Tore it clean open. I took him down afterwards and by the time I was done he had already died. The doctor said he wouldnt've been able to heal that wound."

Kristy's POV

Liam shifted on his feet uncomfertably and sent a death glare at Jacob after he had punched him in the back or shoulder again.

"Hmph. So my dad is dead because of me." I choked out, a lump forming in my throat. I didnt really know him, yet I felt like it was near the end of the world. "Jaden, Liam, Jacob, your dismissed." They nodded and walked out of the room. Jaden stayed however, and grabbed my hand. I felt a tiny bit better.

I didnt feel angry at Caine, just numb. That kind of feeling where your tired of being annoyed at someone and where you just want them to go away and never come back.

I turned to face him and kept a blank look on my face.

"You killed my dad. Feel better about yourself?" I shook my head at him and touched one of bars, feeling the burning sensation of the silver start immediatly. I still didnt move though. He stood, and pressed closer.

"I didnt mean to. My wolf was in control. But I also have a question for you before you send me off to live without a purpose."

I shrugged and backed up, bumping into Jaden.

"Why. Why did you not respond to me when I called out for you in your thoughts? Why didnt you come back? What did I do?" He fired off the questions without giving me a chance to answer them. I bit my lip and looked at my shoes. "Answer," He demanded.

"You cant tell her what to do." Jaden said, his face twisting up in annoyance. I shook my head at him and sighed.

"I didnt leave. Jacob took me with threat of my mother and you were there for that part! He brought me to the same place that you are now where I met my dad for the first time. At that time yes, I heard you calling for me but I knew if I told you where I was that you would come and ransack the place like you have done now. But I wanted to get to know my family, my dad and brother. I cant help the fact that I met Jaden while here, it just happened. And I didnt want to come back out of fear, because they told me you would kill me if you found out that I was going to be the Alpha of this pack."

I stopped, gripping Jaden's hand in mine. Caine closed his eyes and looked at the wall behind him. "I cant say that I would've killed you. I cant say that my pack would've approved. But," He paused and looked up at the cieling. "Since I have a few pack members left alive, im going to rebuild. And then when we are stable enough, i'm going to come back for you. Not through fighting this time though. Im going to win you back through the heart, because I am your true mate. Now, could you let me out?"

I pulled back my hand, ignoring the red mark on it, and picked up the key ring from the floor. I found the right key quickly and let him out. He stepped up to me, and pulled me into a bone crushing hug. "I promise I wont quit," He whispered in my ear.

I pulled back and gaped at him. He smiled, and walked out of the room. I sent out a warning through the pack mind link not to attack him unless provoked and basicly collasped into Jaden's arms.

"If you want him back, im not going to stop you, you know? Of course i'll still want you, but-"

"Stop it," I said, pushing weakly against his chest. He chuckled and ran a hand through his hair, keeping one arm around me. I sighed, and stood a little taller. "C'mon. Lets get something to eat im starving."
