Vengeance with Vampires

I don't want to be like this. I didn't choose to be like this. I want to be... normal. But normal is such a vague word. It could mean anything. To humans it would be friends, family and love. To me it is bloodshed, war, powers and the unability to reveal myself to the sun. Betrayal isn't a rarity among my kind. My family perished long ago. Love is impossible. Or is it? Almost definitely. From the day I was changed, I never killed one human. I befriended them. Sure, I needed them, and used them, but none were ever killed. I yearned to be one of them, but I would only ever be a vampire.

Third Person POV:

Five years ago...

Five years ago, Rainia Auralee Soriena Kastle was 13 years old. She had an older brother who was 17 and two wonderful parents. She had a loving family and lots of friends. That all changed when her family was brutally murdered. She watched as her parents were drained of blood. When it came to her brother, she couldn't watch. She ran away. She went from abandoned warehouse to abandoned warehouse. Everywhere she went they found her. They played with her feelings and her mind. Then they let her run away. Finally she gave up. She couldn't win. She knew they were going to kill her, but she didn't care anymore. There was nothing else for her to live for. Her family was dead and she no longer had friends. When they found her, they cornered her. They knew she wasn't going to run away. Just then, the one about to kill her stopped. A knife stuck out from the back of his head and a stake was through his chest. He turned to ashes on the spot. The others ran, but the hunters didn't follow. They only took notice of the girl splattered with the vermon's blood. Her eyes were wide, but then she went limp and fainted.

Rainia's POV:

Present day...

"DASH!" I screamed as I ran around chasing him. This morning I woke up to take a nice, hot shower. What was I greeted with? Ice cold water pouring down on my body. "DASH I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!" This is typical of him. He always plays pranks on me. Apparently I'm the most fun because I get so mad and it's hilarious when I'm mad.

"Can't catch me, Ray Ray!" He taunted me as he ran away from me. I sped up my running and then I pounced on him. "DASH!" I am furious. To add fuel to the flame, he used my most hated nickname too. I don't know why, but I just wasn't very fond of Ray Ray. "You're so funny when you're angry, Ray Ray! You should've heard yourself scream!"

"Dashall Alexander Williams! I can't believe you're four years older than me!" That's right. The immature jerk is 4 years my senior. Unbelievable, right? I let go of him and laid back on his bed. "Could've at least given me a break, Dash. It's my birthday today after all."

Yep. That's right. It's my birthday! My name's Rainia Auralee Soriena Kastle (ray-NEE-uh.....or-uh-LAY.....sor-ee-EN-uh.....KASS-suhl) My name's unusual and people have issues pronouncing it. I'm now 18 years old. I'm a full fledged vampire hunter, just like the other 6 people living in this house. I am FINALLY finished with high school. I'm not planning on college. When my family perished, they left me a huge inheritance. My aunt died not so long ago either. We weren't close, so when I was orphaned, she didn't take me in, but she had no children so she left me her estate. When I was orphaned the hunters took me in, anyway. So it wasn't like I was without a place to live.

"Sorry, Ray Ray," Dash said innocently while pouting, "but it's not my fault you have no sense of humor!" I got up and made my way to the door. "Whatever, Dash. I'm off to kick some vampire ass." I heard Dash give a sigh. Oh no I'm going to get another lecture. "Rainia." He used my whole first name. This isn't going to be good. "I'd really prefer if you didn't go out hunting by yourself. You're going to get yourself killed!" Turning around, I reply, "It's been five years since the incident, Dash. I've grown a lot since then. I've taken out more than 30 vamps by myself. Today isn't any different." All laughter was gone from his face. "I know that, but still. We worry every time you do this. Even us more experienced hunters never go out by ourselves." Sighing, I say, "That's your business, Dash. I'd rather go myself. You can't tell me what I can and can't do. I'm legal now, anyway. I'll see you later."

With that, I leave to my room. I take a shower, a warm one this time I might add, and get myself dressed in my usual vampire killing attire. A black, long sleeve v-neck shirt, black skinny jeans, boots and a tracker bracelet, just in case. I put on a belt which also doubles as a place to hide a dagger. I stick a silver knife into one boot and a stake in another. I leave emotionless, like every time I have to kill. Vampire or not, they were humans at one point in their lives.

I drive away in my black Mercedes leaving behind my thoughts and emotions.
