Running Away

As I walked down the empty hallway, I could hear my soft footsteps thumping against the tiled floor. I made my way to my locker and spun the combination. Shoving my books in, I saw Joe, the janitor, coming out of a classroom with his cleaning cart.

"Good afternoon, Joe."

"You too, Jasper."

I was almost out of the building when someone bumped into me, sending me crashing to the floor. I landed on my @ss with a 'oomph'.

"I am so sorry. I didn't see you there." the person said, with real sincerity in his voice. I looked up and saw the head jock, Mason Andrews, holding his hand out to me.

Reluctantly, I grabbed onto it. Mason must have misjudged my weight because I was pulled into his hard chest.

"Sorry. Again." he said.

I turned to leave but he grabbed my hand and made me face him.

"What?" I asked.

"What's your name?"

"Jasper"

"That's a cool name."

"Can I go now?" I asked

"Sure"

"Thank you."

I walked into the house, trying to sneak to my room, which happens to be the basement. But luck was not on my side as my foster-brother, Seth, grabbed my neck from behind.

He pushed me forward, making me tumble down the steps leading to the basement. Everything went black as I hit the concrete floor.

This story is basically about a girl who is beaten by her foster family. No one believes her when she tries to get help, so she runs away and ends up living with a boy from her school. Their feelings grow closer the longer she stays. What will happen when her secrets come out?
