Chapter 3
The New Kid / Mr. Sexy Jenkins Jr.
The moment I stepped out of my little bug car, I regretted it. Everywhere I turned, kids were whispering. I caught parts of, none of them bringing me any good news.
“-the new kid-”
“-he’s soooo yummy-”
“-Mr. Jenkins kid-”
“-definitely new Mr. Popular-”
“-do you think he’ll do me?-”
The last one caught me by surprised and I gave the girl a startled and confused look. She giggled childishly and shrugged.
It was 8 : 50, hopefully he wouldn’t have any classes with me, and I could avoid him during for ten minutes, until the bell rang for primetime. I walked hurriedly down the parking lot and sat in a bench, texting my friend Sally. ‘Hey where r u?’ I locked the screen for droid that I got for Christmas, and took out a book to read in the mean while.
I wasn’t really paying attention to the words on the pages, but merely staring at it, so I looked busy and people wouldn’t bother me. Every little while I would glance at the screen, anxiously.
Two minutes later I received a message. ‘I’m sick, can’t go 2 skool. C u 2mrow. Luv u xoxo - Sallz’
I locked the screen, stuffing the phone in my back pocket. I heard the bell ring from inside the building, and I placed my book back in my bag. Great, just great. I’ll have to pass through out this whole day without my best friend. I prayed in every pore in my body, that I wouldn’t get to see Mr. Sexy Jenkins Jr.
I was getting stuff from my locker, when I heard a familiar voice chirp behind me. “Hey Sammy!” I turned around and cursed under my breath to see Mr. Sexy Jenkins Jr. walk towards me, waving an excited hand. He seemed oddly cheerful for a person who just lost his mom. I felt my breath get caught in my throat as he I saw the blue muscle shirt he was wearing. It was bringing out his eyes that stood out under his dark hair, and definitely his rounded muscles.
He smirked at me, and I realized that I was checking him out, once again. I blushed slightly, and replied awkwardly, “Heeeeey Jake.” he gave a wicked grin and leaned against the locker next to mine.
“Hey, I didn’t know we would be in the same school! I’m glad though. It’s nice to know someone here. Everybody keeps on hogging around me.” he gestured towards across a group of girls that was across the hall. Whispering, desperately looking at him. He gave an awkward wave at them, and they all giggled pushing they’re way more downward the hall. All flirting, flipping they’re hair back, winking, blushing furiously.
I gave a small chuckle, and looked back at Jake. “It’s kind of funny, really,” I replied honestly. “By the way, I’m sorry about yesterday, I was taking a nap, and when you knocked I thought it was today and my mom, and..” I found myself rambling some really lame excuse, and was cut short when he laughed.
“You’re pretty funny, Sammy.” he remarked, winking at me.
I blushed slightly, but smiled. “A real comedian,” I replied. He gave a chuckle, but then gestured towards my locker.
“Is that locker yours?”
“Yeah, why?”
“Oh, well it says 2836. So does the one on my paper.” he scowled, still looking amazingly handsome, and scanned the paper he was holding.
“Really? Must have been a mistake, let me see that.” I frowned slightly, my brow knitted together in concentrated as I looked over his paper. “Oh no, sweetie. It says 3836 not 2836, your locker is just across the hall.” I pointed to the opposite column of locker from across the hallway. I was starting to be mentally concerned when he was smiling down at me, instead of looking where I was pointing at.
“Yes?” I asked unsure as he continued to stare at me.
“You called me sweetie, darling,” he responded a cocky smile on his face, with an arched eyebrow.
I blushed slightly, cursing under my breathe. I was a natural flirt, and really friendly, but I was never much of a looker. Just pretty average, most likely the reason why I was never really popular. I don’t mind though, I liked being on my own. There’s not so much drama.
