It’s raining, and I’m walking home.
“Naomi, wait up!” Millie shouts, and I hear her footsteps come closer.
“Geez you walk fast.” I say, looking up at her. Millie is really tall and really pretty.
“Oh em geeee, Naomi! He’s there!” Millie suddenly whispers. I look forward and see her crush with some of his mates.
I roll my eyes as Millie goes nuts.
“Mills calm the heck down.” I mumble.
We are approaching them, and I see the most handsome boy on the world turn around and catching my eye.
“Hiyaaa Liam.” Millie puts up a weird voice. It makes me laugh a bit.
“Hey Millie.” Liam knows she fancies him, since I’ve informed him.
He is playing hard to get, thank god.
I wink at Liam, and he introduces the rest of his friends.
“… and here’s Zayn, you already know him?” Liam says. Zayn steps out and shakes my hand.
“What a gentlemen.” I say, looking straight into his eyes.
He smiles a little and bites his lip.
O my gosh did I just die a little? That was way too sexy.
“Mind joining our hangout tonight?” Liam asks.
“Well, actually we planne…” I start to tell about Mills’ plan to have a Ladies Night.
“That’d be great Liam! Where and when?” Millie interrupts me.
Appearently she doesn’t care that much about me.
“7, my place.” Liam says.
“Ah alright. Mills you probably know where Liam lives, don’t you?” I say, giving her the evils.
Her eyes widen, and she pinches me quite hard.
“No, what makes you think that?” Her eyes are fixed on mine, giving me the chills.
“Well, anyways. It’s a couple of blocks away from here.” Liam explains it in more detail to Millie, while I start talking to the other guys.
Zayn doesn’t say much, but keeps on staring at me.
It’s a bit annoying.
“Can I help you?” I ask him.
He blinks a few times and then nods.
“No, sorry.. I was just.. you know..” He blushes enormously, and I regret my mean question.
“I’m sorry, it came out meaner that it was meant to be..” I explained.
He smiled at me, making me melt.
After some minutes, Liam and Millie joined our conversation.
I try to eye-contact Millie, but she ignores me.
“Well, Mills and I should be going.” I finally say.
We say goodbye and walk further to my place.
“Liam seems to suspect something. Have you told him?” Millie asks when we’re separated several metres.
“Told him what?” I reply, I can’t get Zayn off my mind.
He’s just so handsome and funny, yet so distant and mysterious.
“That I fancy him!” She mumbles.
“Ofcourse not! How dare you to ask?” I look at her in my, very well, played disbelief.
“I’m sorry! But there would be no other way he could find out..” She says.
“Yeah right, Millie. Because you are so good in hiding whoever your crush is.” I think about all her previous crushes. They all found out she fancied them, without any of my assistance.
“I think, he’s playing hard to get, Naomi.” She smiles.
“Ask him out!” I immediately say.
She slaps my arm, and we both laugh.
In the meantime, we’ve reached my house, and we enter it.
“Mom, I’m hoooome!” I shout, and walk into her work room.
“Hey sweetie, how was school?” She asks. I wait a few moments, and see she’s busy working again.
I shrug my shoulders and drag Millie upstairs.
I glance at the clock, and notice we’ve only got one hour left to prepare. I interrupt Millie, who’s been telling about a perfect date with Liam, and she looks at me in shock.
We quickly gather some clothing and makeup stuff.
“I guess we’ll be going casual?” I assume.
She nods, and we both get ready.
Once I come back at my room, I see Millie completely dressed up. In a minidress, with pumps.
She looks at me.
From my converses, to my jeans and finally to my hoodie.
“Oh no, no, no no! You want to get the Zayn person? You do need a bit of glam.” She says.
I smile, she knows me too well.
She picks another outfit for me, and then we’re ready to leave.
