7/3/2008

Our parents had just dropped us off at Valley Fair and we thought it was going to be the best day of our lives. But it turned out to be the worst and last day for us.

I stood next to Krisa, my older sister, as she bought our admission into the park. I was about a head or so shorter than her, that's because at the time I was eleven and she was seventeen. We both had the same shade of hair and eyes, making us obvious siblings.

"Let's go!" she said in her sweet voice with a smile. I nodded and followed her into the park.

After a day filled of fun and excitement, Krisa and I decided to go on the Wild Thing. This was the biggest and fastest roller coaster in the park. (A/N-and the roller coaster this writer refuses to ride! EDIT! As of today, 8/22/2013, I, Fangirlofthenorth, rode the Wild Thing!).

"N-no dad, pick us up in about an hour. The line here is long and there's a sign here saying we have a forty-five minute wait from where we're standing. OK fine. Love you, too. Bye" Krisa hit the end button on her phone and than pocketed it.

"Dad'll be here in about an hour" she said as she flashed a kind smile. At the time, I didn't see the annoyance in her eyes. Who or what was she annoyed at? To this day, I don't know. She stayed happy for me.

By the time we reached the front of the line, the sun had started to set.

"Finally. We've reached the front" I heard Krisa mutter. The green cars were linked together like a train. Each car had four rows of seats. An usher showed us to the first car and had us sit in the last row with Krisa in the inside seat.

"Welcome all to the Wild Thing," a guy who was probably a couple years older than Krisa said over the intercom, "buckle up and enjoy the ride" he said as he pressed some buttons. The shoulder rest fell onto my shoulders and locked into place. The same happened to everyone else on the ride. Then the cars started to pull out and up a giant hill.

"Are you OK, Cyle?" Krisa asked. I shot her a weird look.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Why?"

"You just look kinda scared" she said as we neared the top.

"You're weird" I joked just before the cars shot down the tracks. My body jerked everywhere but I didn't care. I was having the time of my life. Just as the fast moving car began turning a corner, it leapt off the tracks. Fear filled screams filled the air. The world around me suddenly slowed.

"Cyle!" I heard Krisa cry as she slowly wrapped her arms around in a protective way. From that moment, I knew one thing.

I was going to die.

Tears filled my eyes just as the nose of the first car touched the ground. The two car tipped forwards and landed on top of the eight passengers. My head made contact with the cement and the world around went black.

When I opened my eyes, all I saw was blackness. I stood up and looked around to see if there was anything in that void. There was nothing. Scared, I started calling for Krisa. She never answered.

"Krisa, where are you?" I called as tears began well up in my eyes.

"She's not here, child" a beautiful female voice said. I jumped and looked around for the voice.

"Who are you and where's my sister?!" I yelled.

"Your sister does not belong here. Neither does she belong on earth anymore. My Brother shall show her the way soon," the voice explained, "as for me, you don't need to know because we will never meet again. I'm just here to tell you that you can't cross over" when all her words sunk in, I began to cry.
