Once Bitten, Twice Shy

The time drips by so very slow.

Where did all of that time go?

That time that passes by so slow.

The sand seems to fall in reverse.

Perhaps my luck is simply cursed

Once bitten, twice shy.

I never let a chance pass me by.

I might get hurt but I know I'll learn,

Into sunshine, the rain can turn.

So come and give me another scar.

You promised me a broken heart.

I hear the rain fall on the roof.

I wish my face was waterproof.

The tears they stain my leather boots.

Will they drive our love away in a hearse?

Perhaps our luck is simply cursed.

How can you just pretend?

We don't want to be "just friends"

I want to hold you close to my heart,

The one that shall break should we ever part.

Once bitten, twice shy.

I never let a chance pass me by.

I might get hurt but I know I'll learn,

Into sunshine the rain can turn.

So come and give me another scar.

You promised me a broken heart.
