Switching Directions

PROLOGUE:

Who would have known my life could be changed forever in one day.simple me. With the just below shoulder golden brown hair. An tallishness-that always annoyed me- of  5'6. Easy tanner and a loving familly with 3 older brothers and one older sisster and many adoring pets. My life has always been normal, average, with its normal ups and downs with a hint of drama.Up until now. Now i am forever changed.

The police are trying to explaining my impossible situation to me.

"You see, your mother already had one child and her father was worried that she could not handle another." the polite social worker told me in a pathetic voice. I flinch everytime they say "mother".

"So when you were born, and she has fallen asleep. Her father took you and put you in adoption. . .in california. And told your mother that you were a stil birth." she kept going on. My face was a solid mask, refusing to cry or show my utter fear of what she is telling me.

"No one had known except for him, up until this last month when he was on his death bed. The quilt was to much to bear. So he told your mother what he had done."
No.no. This cant be real.

" As soon as she found out she sent people looking to find you. And now we are here. Since the adoption had your mothers forged signature the adoption was not officially legal. So we are here to take you to London."
