If only I could ease his pain,
Lend my strength ,let it drain,
Into the void where his is spent,
Courage endures though slightly bent.
If only love was strength enough
But pain's a foe that's oh so tough,
Alone he fights the battles inside,
His eyes are dry from tears not cried.
If only there was hope in store,
That he would soon feel joy once more,
But that day seems so far away,
The time piles up, on him it weighs.
If only pain would leave him be,
For a bit of time, or two or three,
Maybe then his smile would shine,
Like I know it can so sweet and fine.
If only there were words to say,
To make the pain just go away,
And bring him back into loving arms,
Where he belongs, safe from harm..
