I catch myself while peering through gaping into pools of blue like tiny shards of mirrored glass betraying torment of the past Blindly leaking through the gaps walls of fortitude collapse grappling the icy tide immersed beneath where I can't hide Resist with passion to survive a testament that I'm alive I climb to land, there drained I lie And watch the blood-red clouds float by soon enough the flood recedes The waves roll back into the seas with newfound breath and ache for life only formed through pain and strife I rest upon the sunlit sand And then begin to understand The battle conquered took the chance to give myself an inner-ward glance I look up to the ruby sky and stare right through my fire blue eyes
