My brown hair flew in the night air and the wheat brushed against my dress. I played around in the wheat field while my pregnant mother, Su, rocked back and forth on our one story house porch.

“Lupo!” My mother called for me.

I ran to my mother. She had brown hair in a high ponytail and red eyes. “Yes, Mama?” I asked sweetly.

“Make a wish, Lupo.” She pointed up to the night sky and a shooting star was near us.

“I wish…what do you wish for Mama?” I asked.

“What could I wish for when-“ She was cut off from when the falling star landed on our wheat field.

We both ran towards the smoking area and saw a young girl there with golden hair that covered most of her body, you couldn’t see her eyes since she looked asleep.

“P-princess?” My mother softly whispered, “Lupo, go inside and set up a bed.” I did as she said and hurried inside our small house and grabbed many sheets.

Mama came in holding the girl and set her down while I looked at her. Mama was boiling water and asked me to grab a rag.

(Dai’s PoV)

As I slowly started to wake up I felt something cold on my forehead and two people talking in a strange language I didn’t understand. When I opened my eyes I saw a woman and a child with brown hair.
“Hello, do you remember anything?” The woman spoke.

“Uh, sort of…” I started to lean up.

“Like what?” A small brown headed girl said but I didn’t know what.

“What do you remember?” The mother translated.

“Um, my name is Daiya, I’m 9, my birthday is April 1st, and….nothing else. It’s just blank.” I was puzzled.

“Well, until you remember who you are, you’re allowed to stay with us.” The woman smiled at her daughter, “Right Lupo?”

“Right Mama!” The girl named Lupo jumped on me and hugged my ribs.

Su, the woman who saved me long ago, gave birth to a baby girl named Rosso. During then Lupo was only 9 and I was 10. Lupo learned English and I learned Italian. That was what they were speaking back then. When I was 13 (Lupo: 12 Rosso: 3) we moved to America, away from the small town in Italy. It was hard for us since Su got deathly ill after a month of being there. Lupo would go to school and take care of Rosso and Su while I had to drop out of school and get a job at a café, library, and a small store.  One night I came home to fine the ambulance at our place.

“What’s going on!?” I asked one of our neighbors.

“Daiya!” I heard Lupo behind me.

“Lupo, Rosso!” I hugged them, “Where’s Su?”

“She’s gone…” Lupo started to cry and so did Rosso. I had to stay strong for my two little sisters and tried not to cry.

“Excuse me?” A doctor came near us.
