"Hey! What took so long? You okay?"
"Oh sorry, I just um... My phone was in the other room." She always has her phone with her.
"Oh, okay. So I was going to go out today, since, you know, it's Tuesday."
"Yeah that sounds great." We decide to meet at Tiger's Cafe around 8:30. I change into a plain purple tank top and navy jeans. I put my hair in a loose ponytail and throw on gold sandals.
On my way out the door my dad says, "Tiger's?"
"Yep." I could walk to Tiger's backwards with my eyes closed, that's how often I meet Cora there.
I get there at 8:33 and she's no where in sight. That's normal. Cora likes to make an entrance. Tiger's is where all the high school kids go after school or on Tuesdays or Thursdays. I look down at my watch again as I sit down at one of the high-topped tables. 8:37. Where is she?
I go outside not even bothering to save the table. After looking both ways on the street, I call her. It rings four times again.
"Hey, sorry I'm late. I'll be there in about 2 minutes." It's 8:42. Okay, that's fine, I was just wondering where you were."
"Okay, see ya in a few." She hangs up before I can say bye.
