What I Know About Love Stories

Fairytales don’t exist.

There is a reason they are called fairytales. Fairies don’t exist so their stories aren’t real either. There are no Princes.

There are no Kings. No fairy godmothers. No what must be uncomfortable glass slippers. And that brings me to another topic.

Love stories.

Everyone knows what I am talking about. We have all heard those stories about a friend of a friend with some impossible love story. They stumbled upon the man of their dreams in a coffee shop. It was love at first sight. And then the random coffee shop guy also turned out to be a Duke or something.

These stories aren’t real either.

In fact, they are complete bullshit.

Six months ago I used to think differently. I imagined myself as the central character in a great romance just waiting to begin. My prince would come one day soon.

Every girl deserved a prince right?

My prince did come or so I thought. But maybe he wasn’t a prince after all. Because now I know that princes don’t exist. And maybe you just think I am jaded, but this book is my record to prove everyone wrong. Here is my story and what I know about love stories. Consider it a handy primer for those seeking their true love.

It all started with a bucket, a guitar, and my favorite shoes.

Gosh, I really miss those shoes.
