After driving around for a few hours trying to find a new place in South Carolina to stay, we ended up finding this great two bedroom apartment above an old woman's second hand store. We'd driven past the store and I forced Eric to pull over so I could go inside. As soon as we entered the store, I felt a sense of ease and relaxation. We wanted to ask her about the for rent sign in the window but ended up finding much more than an apartment.

"Eric, it feels nice in here," I whispered to him over my shoulder.

"Honey, stay by me please. The woman who owns this store is a witch." Eric wrapped his arms around me and kept me close as we walked around.

'How do you know that?" I asked him mentally.

'Can't you sense it? That calm feeling when we walked in. Witches place spells on their stores to make people feel more comfortable. It helps them spend more money if they feel relaxed and at home.'

I thought back to when I was human and went shopping. I'd spent so much money at my "comfort" stores and now I knew why I felt that way now.

"Damn witches," I said to Eric with a smile.

"Yes, damn witches," a woman's voice said behind us. We spun around to see an older woman standing there, frowning at us.

"If you damn me, I should damn you... vampires." Eric moved to stand in front of me and the old woman's expression changed into a smile.

"Calm down. I'd never hurt her, or you. She is pregnant with a boy after all. I love baby boys." She moved towards me suddenly, making me gasp. Eric's grip on me tightened and she placed a hand on my stomach.

"You didn't fully know it was a boy. He is healthy and very strong. He's uh...” She trailed off and looked between the two of us. I frowned at her because her happy face had become hard.

"What? What's wrong with him?" I asked worried.

"No, he is fine. I don't know if I should tell you this but I feel I must. Your son is special. He will lead and do great things. He's going to lead and he will be powerful, but only if given the proper guidance. You must keep him away from...”

She trailed off again, thinking deeply. I held my breath and Eric moved be back, closer to him.

'Please don't let her say Robert.' I said in my head and Eric's eyes snapped to mine.

"Richard. He must be kept away from someone named Richard."

I released the breath I was holding and placed my hand over hers that was resting on my stomach. She tensed up and closed her eyes the second I touched her. She gasped and opened her eyes. Eric moved quickly and removed her hand from my stomach. He placed me behind him again and took a defensive stance.

"Don't touch her again," Eric spat at her and she moved back as she opened her eyes.

"I'm sorry, but when your wife touched me she gave me a vision. It's not a Richard you need to worry about, it's Robert. He is looking for your son now, and for you. You need to be careful. You need to keep her close to you. Protect her and you son." She grabbed Eric's hands and spoke frantically to him, begging him to understand.

"I'll never let anything happen to her. I love her, and my son."

"I know you do, but love isn't enough. Robert is hiding something. He's strong. He's very strong and if he were to get your son, he would be unstoppable."

She dropped Eric's hands and moved towards the front counter of her store. Eric and I followed her but kept our distance, not sure what was going to happen next. She was digging around for something and a minute later, popped back up holding a bottle of herbs.
