Luce’s POV

Oh hot damn!

I missed his lips! The way his tongue would curl around mine, how his hands would tightened around me every time I’d moan…Oh god! I couldn’t do this!

I threw my hand over my eyes trying to get the thought of Ryan’s lips off my head and started humming, “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen.
That song was so annoying but I loved it!

I smiled, with eyes still closed, and started shaking my body under the white hospital sheets. As I got more into the song I closed my fists and sang into them as if they were a microphone.

“Hey I just met you
And this is crazy
But here’s my number
So call me maybe!”

I took a deep breath and looked out the window. The sun was starting to set and the clouds were covering the sky, making it seem like it was around 7:30 p.m. I played with the little clip on my finger and sighed.

Luce get him out of your head!

I punched the sides of the bed and groaned. Why did he have to come back after all this time?! Why couldn’t he stay away like he had been doing for five years!?

The door opened, letting a bit of light shine in.

“Luce?”

“Ryan? What are you doing here?!” I hissed at Ryan’s shadow.

I could hear the smile in his voice as he said, “No one’s here so I decided to keep you company.”

“You don’t even know if I was sleeping!”

He shrugged and his whispers sounded louder as he walked over to me. He sat down on the chair next to the bed and leaned his elbows on his knees, looking up at me. “So talk to me. How are you?”

I rolled my eyes at him and said, “Ryan, we both know that you didn’t come here for that. So cut to the chase, what do you want?”

He raised his eyebrow at me and I held back the urge to caress his soft cheek. Damn you Ryan and your soft cheeks!

“I just wanted to be near you…is that so bad?”

I closed my eyes trying to control my breathing and whispered, “No…just…why?!”

He caressed my cheek with the tip of his fingers and my head swayed a bit. “I missed you. Luce I already told you I love you. Why don’t you understand that?! I want you and I’m sure as hell that you can feel this yearning that I have for you as well!”

I threw the sheets off my legs and stood up. I couldn’t be this close to him, smelling the same air he smelled, breathing the same air, and smelling him! I clenched my fists and said, “You don’t know anything!”

He stood up and stared at me with his hands resting on the bed, which was the only barrier between us. “Luce I love you! Now tell me, look at my eyes and tell me you don’t love me!”
I bit my bottom lip trying not to sob and turned away from him. Of course I still had feelings for him! But it had been five years and Dean was, scratch that, is, my fiancée. I wrapped my arms around myself and whispered, “I didn’t see you for five years Ryan, and I needed to see you. I needed to know that you were okay, that you had gotten out of that damn island alive and that I would have a chance at living the rest of my life with you. But no! None of that happened I woke up in a damn hospital by myself! Scared out of my fucking mind because I had no fucking clue on where you were! They told me that you survived but then they told me that you were dead and I didn’t know who to believe! I searched for you, Ryan! I looked for you and I thought that I had even looked under rocks for you, but nothing. Nada! It was like they erased you from the face of the earth! I loved you! Dammit see what you made me do?!” I wiped my tears away angrily and said, “Ryan I had never loved anyone like I had loved you and then you were gone with a snap of fingers.”
