I Told You So

I said it loud

And I said it clear

But for some reason

You refused to hear

I tried to tell you

To point out this was wrong

But you just kept going

Right on along

You never stopped to listen

Not once did you

So now look, dear friend

Look at what has come

I don't feel bad at all

Not even just a little

Because I've done all I can

To make you understand

So when I got that call

That he wasn't meant to do things at all

I just hung up the phone

Which meant you would never go home

I remember, dear friend

When I said something that would turn into

I Told You So

This poem was written for a reason. My friend has a boyfriend that is not good to her, but she is too blinded and in-denial to realize. So, I wrote this poem to put my feeling out there about what might happen if she stays with him.
