Awaken
He was a vegetable; paralyzed but he was able to breathe by himself. Eyes tightly shut, he tried to open them but being a vegetable meant you couldn't move meaning if you can't move then your muscles are not functioning which means that every attempt he gave at opening his eyes just backfired on him. Open, he thought each time he tried moving his eyes but nothing happened. The only part of him that was not muscle controlled was his spirit which felt like a prisoner, like the rest of his body.
It was time to crack the ice shell which surrounded him. This time, when he cries OPEN, his eyes will open. But you can't guarantee that they will open in his command. If he still had authority over his body, then he'll be able to open his eyes and see where he was; it's been ages since he last saw. But the game didn't work like that... he didn't care less! Right this minute, the game will be in his favour and he would finally be able to open his eyes.
Open.
Open!
OPEN!
A cloud of blurriness started attacking his eyes, perhaps a side effect of being trapped. Trying to remember everything that had happened before, he blinked very hard. Opening his eyes, he found himself in a dark room... quite cliche yes but this is what happens when you've been jolted back into reality.
"BRYCE! YOU WOKE UP!" yelled someone in the room, presumeably a female judging by the high voice. Closing his eyes then opening them properly, he can see light, lots of it. And of course the yelling woman standing over his bed with a huge grin on her face. How could you mistake light for darkness? But all that didn't matter now, where was he? What had happened to him? 'Bryce, speak to me! Are you okay?' the woman spoke more softly.
"Lauren." was the first thing he had said in days, the last thing he had said in fact - well before the accident obviously. It was her fault he was strapped to a hospital bed. It was her fault he couldn't meet his girlfriend's friends. All her fault he was trapped in his own body! But revenge never crossed his mind. Instead, the name Camila drifted in his mind as the screaming woman left the room.
Speaking of Camila, where was she? Had she heard the news that her boyfriend had been hit by a car driven by her best friend? He had to tell her but... where was she? He had to warn her about Lauren but it seems she was nowhere.
Little did he know that when he was fighting for his life, she was with Lauren, somewhere else because she had chosen her over him.
