(12) Present: 2012

Staring into the eyes of the man that tortured me for several years was agonizing. The way his dark eyes showed no emotion only seemed to make it creepier. My legs seemed to have locked in place while my eyes never even blinked. He took several steps towards me until he was so close that his breath hit my face in puffs.

When he rose his hand up, I closed my eyes in preparation for the hit. But when I felt his rough hand brush my cheek, my eyes immediately opened. He jerked me forward, crushing his lips almost painfully into mine. He pulled away and rammed my back into a tree before kissing down my neck roughly. When he brought his lips back to mine, well, I was weak. Grabbing a fist full of his hair, I kissed him back even rougher. He grabbed a loop on my jeans and pulled me until I was absolutely crushed into him in every way possible. Judging by how his body was reacting, it was obvious what he wanted from me right here and right now.

I shoved him backwards to where he had his back against a tree and then I leaped up and wrapped my legs around his waist, feeling his lips at my throat. Blame it on not getting any in nearly a decade. I craved him at the moment, completely forgetting the fact that Jeremy was sitting in a truck on the bridge with a now dead step-dad. Xavier threw his coat to the ground and jerk off my own jacket furiously.

“Lucy,” he breathed before grabbing my wrists and pinning them above my head as he kissed from my lips down.

His voice snapped me out of my mood instantly. Fear made me feel unbearably cold as Xavier started working on my jeans roughly. Quickly, I jumped away from him and didn’t waste a second before running through the forest at top speed. All I hoped was that Jeremy was still there and could help me with my current situation.

When I broke through the trees, I was relieved to see Jeremy sitting in the truck, fully aware of his surroundings. “JEREMY!” I bellowed, throwing myself towards the truck as quickly as I could.

BAM! I went flying at the sudden force that hit my side, causing me to fly over the truck and land on the bridge. Xavier looked at the truck through narrowed eyes; his expression seemed almost torn as of what he was supposed to do. He walked towards me, but I managed to leap up before he could even touch me. That’s when I heard the truck roar. It came flying down the bridge and hit Xavier head on, sending him rolling down the road.

“Don’t get out of the truck!” I screamed at Jeremy as I approached Xavier cautiously.

He was laying on his back with his eyes closed and little cuts all over his skin from the hit. He was temporarily knocked out, giving me the advantage. Using my foot, I nudged him and leaped back to make sure he wasn’t going to grab my ankle like some kind of horror film. But he remained still.

“He’s out! Get something to tie him up with!” I yelled, my eyes not leaving the body in front of me.

As I wrapped the chains—the ones that Jeremy had used on me just a few days back—around Xavier’s limp body, I kept Jeremy away in case he’d wake up and pull a horror movie moment on us. Once everything was secure, I went over to the truck and pulled out a bottle of blood that was supposed to be saved for later. Resisting the urge to drink it myself, I held the open bottle under his nose in hopes of waking him.

His eyes slowly opened and I quickly jumped back in case he was going to lash out on me. When he was fully awake, he began to jerk against to chains for at least minute before sinking into the tree he was chained to. A smile formed on his lips as he kept his eyes on me silently. What was I supposed to do next?

“Are you going to leave me here until the sun turns me to dust, love?” he asked me.

Fear made me unable to speak. I just stared at him like an idiot as he continued to smile.
