4 Days later

"It's been 4 days, do you really think anyone is coming?" Jessica, Daniel and myself were sitting in the library, discussing the current situation.

"My sister would have told me." I argued. Jessica was skeptical. "She would have told me to try and get over on my own."

"I agree with Jessica." Daniel seemed to have given up hope altogether. Something no-one was expecting. He was the hope of our team. "No one seems to be coming. I suggest we take the banners down and get rid of the giant help in the playground." I stood up and walked over to the window, with my back to them I replied,

"It's our only hope." I shook my head at the idea of everyone losing hope. "And we need all the hope we can get." And on time a jet flew overhead, it was low down and it could see the sign. Daniel and Jessica looked up at me.

"Was that a..." Jessica looked at me, a smile was beginning to show. "Jet?" She asked. I nodded and we all ran outside. When we got outside everyone was gathered, we all watched the jet as it circled back to check if we were still alive. As it neared we all started to jump about, screaming and shouting at the tops of our lungs. After he flew past us we all dropped onto the ground. Smiling. I looked over to my friends. They had all gotten their smiles and hope back. I watched the area in the sky which I last saw the plane flying. I had to squint to make out the other plane flying towards us, it was a larger plane. When it was overhead, I put my hand over my eyes to block the sun. It was some sort of carrier plane. Possibly Army. "Did anyone get colours?" Jessica asked, as she stood herself up.

"They both fly Red, White and Blue." James Johnston smartly remarked.

"Shut up." Jessica snapped. "One flies stars, the other flies crosses. Dumb ass."

"Well like we'd be able to notice that." James replied, clearly to annoy her.

"Oh shut up." Jessica hissed as she glared at him.

"Well I suppose most things are back to normal." Victoria joked. I laughed at her remark and hugged her.

"So what happens now?" Laura asked me. I turned around to look at her, she was scared and sad. Her hope had faded during the Outbreak of Z-Day. "With everyone we knew dead and probably wandering around this place eating whatever meat it can get, can we ever return to normal?" She looked out to the gates. "Most likely they'll take us all away and experiment on us."

"I'm the only one infected. You lot should be fine." I assured her. It seemed as if everyone had forgotten about my infected state and fell silent.

"Well I'm going to have some food." Jessica stated, after a few seconds of eerie silence.

"Okay. I'm going back up to the library." I told everyone, Julie stopped me and asked me to check on Jack. He was at the very top of the Crombie, the perfect vantage point. As I climbed the Crombie stairs I could hear someone running down them. Jack stopped when he seen me.

"It's the Americans!" He shouted before running on. "They know we know."
