Chapter 18

"Kate?" Jon called through the house. He was surprised that Katelyn had not locked the door but he wasn't quite surprised she wasn't home. The girl had to keep some sort of normal life.

"Oh!" Katelyn squealed from the other room. "Ah... just a moment!"

"Are you alright Kate?" Jon questioned as he made his way toward the noise of Katelyn's voice.

"Don't come in! I'll be right there!" she screamed back. This time urgently.

Jon smirked and took another step toward the kitchen, hopeful he would catch something he probably shouldn't. As he looked into the kitchen, Katelyn looked toward him shaking her head. "You are lucky, mister," she scolded.

Jon chuckled, "what?"

"I said wait for a reason." She began to pick up the pieces of clothing she still had laying on the kitchen floor; shoes, socks, a set of earrings and necklace on the table.

"So how are you doing? Your brother said you were sick," he looked her over, concerned.

"I am not feeling the greatest. You shouldn't have come, what if you catch something," Katelyn yawned and coughed out a fake cough.

"I came to bring you home with me. Mom said she wants you to take a break, she thinks you are not eating properly and studying too hard. She thinks you are worrying yourself sick," Jon lied.

"I can't Jon. I have school."

"Kate, there is only a week and a half left until break anyway. I think you can spare it," Jon rolled his eyes. He stepped closer to her and held his arms out. "Do I get a hug?"

Katelyn hesitated for a moment. Someone would find out soon enough, but she really didn't want it to start with Jon. But, if she didn't offer him a friendly hug like she normally did he might get a bit suspicious.

Katelyn groaned internally then stepped forward into Jon's waiting arms. He embraced her tightly, and then pulled back a bit. "Something's different."

"Oh..." Katelyn muttered, "That's just my perfume." Katelyn pushed away and began to fiddle with the dishes.

"I don't quite think its perfume," Jon drawled as he lifted his head up slightly and took a whiff of the air.

"Don't worry about it. I'll get a different perfume," she said waving her hand back and forth behind her at Jon.

"Pack your bags."

"Uh, no." Katelyn rolled her eyes and quickly turned around to face Jon, "I am not going away right now. You need to leave Jon."

"Kate."

Katelyn's face soured, "You need to leave now. Before you get everyone back at your home, including my baby sister, sick. Now. Leave." Her voice was hard and she was angry now.

"Kate. You need to speak with Zane."

"This visit is all about some boy! I am sick Jon! I don't want to talk about boys right now! If you don't leave..." she looked around the kitchen, planning an escape route. "Then I will."

"Kate... I know... Why didn't you tell me sooner?" he asked. "I could have helped you..." He shook his head.

"I don't know what you're talking about." She said playing dumb. "Now can you go back home and I want to get some rest." She yawned.

"No, Kate."

He watched as she stomped forward. "Look Jon, you don't know what you're getting yourself into, you need to just let it be." She snapped.

"Katelyn, please come back with me," Jon practically was begging now.

"No." She said swiftly turning on her heels and racing toward the exterior kitchen door.

"Katelyn!" Jon screamed as he raced after her. He couldn't quite shift and expose himself to her, instead he took up running after her. When Katelyn hit the wooded tree line, she dodged until she had finally disappeared from Jon's sight.

"Shit!" Jon hissed under his breath. He headed in the direction he believed her to be in, but without shifting he couldn't be a hundred percent sure. He wasn't a bloodhound, he was a cat.

A roar bellowed out before him and Jon shifted his attention toward it. "Katelyn," he shook his head.

Slowly, Jon began to take off his clothing, one piece at a time. The stunning white leopard watched with unflinching body, never moving for a moment. It had seemed curious about what he was doing, but Jon knew... this snow leopard had to be Katelyn.

When he had finally reached the last item, his boxers, and began to push them down; the leopard turned her head quickly avoiding that view. "Come here kitty kitty," Jon teased. "I am going to shift and then once I show you who the boss is, I'm going to take you back to my parent's house."

Jon burst forward landing his hands on the ground before him and quickly shifting into a big cat. When he finally looked up from the dirt below him the white snow leopard was gone. He lifted his head up slightly and took in her scent. He purred and took off running after her.

She was no longer in heat, but her scent was for sure the one he had smelt in the woods of the pride territory. "Katelyn, I know you are the snow leopard. Now come out and we can talk."

A dash of white flashed before him and Jon raced toward it. She was quick he would have to give her that but he had many years of training working against her. Next time the snow leopard dashed near him, he pounced, knocking her to the ground.

He positioned himself over her and growled as his teeth snapped over her. "I am your beta; you will do as I ask."

"Get off me!" Katelyn snarled.

"We are going to go back to my house. The pride territory and talk. Now get back to the house and pack." He snarled as he nipped at her soft fluffy ears.

"No," she rolled sideways and managed to slice at his tender stomach. "You are not my boss. I am not going to listen to you. All you cats do is boss people around!"

The blow to his stomach had made it easier for Katelyn to get free. But she wasn't out of the clear. Without thought Jon pinned her again and this time she had to listen. He growled and snarled his hackles were raised as he bared his teeth. "I am your boss." He told her. "Now. You will come home with me."

Defeated Katelyn returned home, she had packed with Jon's constant attention.
