Eighteen, engaged and raising a baby!

Chapter 1

Stephanie's POV

"I'll get him" I whispered as I slipped out of bed and headed towards the nursery. Clive has been really amazing over the last year with helping me so I knew I had to react fast before he got up. He insisted that he had to help me as much as possible and I am really grateful for that, I'm not sure if I could have managed the last year without him.

I turned on the light and scooped Nathan up into my arms. His got Clive's eyes and I couldn't help but smile as I held my beautiful baby. He automatically stopped crying when I picked him up and reached for me with his hand.  

"I love you too" I whispered to him. I sat down on the rocking chair and gave his bottle to him which he took greedily. He is a big and healthy boy and I had no doubt that Clive was going to get his dream of his son becoming a football player.

When he was done drinking his eyes closed and I placed him back in his crib. I stayed there for a while just watching him sleep and then went back to bed. I got under the covers and quickly fell asleep. Nathan is a really good baby and usually sleeps through the night but raising a baby and going to school at the same time is tough and I was exhausted most of the time. Luckily tomorrow is Saturday and Clive's day off so we both get to sleep in.

I awoke to the sound of Clive's voice and opened my eyes to see him lying propped up on his arm and looking at me lovingly.  

"Hi" I whispered pulling him closer and giving him a hug. We laid in each other's arms for a while until Clive jumped out of bed and demanded that I get dressed.

"I'm taking you out for breakfast and then we are going gift shopping" He declared taking some clothes out of the cupboard and disappearing into the bathroom. Nathan's first birthday was coming up in a week's time and I wanted to throw a little party for him. Nothing major, just a few friends, a nice cake and lots of gifts!

I felt excited about going toy shopping for Nathan and quickly gathered my clothes and headed to the bathroom in the nursery to take a shower. Usually Clive and I share a bathroom but I was in such a hurry that I didn't feel like waiting.

When I was done getting dressed I quickly changed Nathan and dressed him in a cute pair of jeans and T shirt. He looked really cute and I couldn't help stealing a hug before heading back to our room.

I placed Nathan on the floor with his toys and kept an eye on him while applying some make up and doing my hair.

"You look beautiful" Clive said smiling at me and then scooping Nathan up into his arms. Clive is such an amazing dad and whenever he is with Nathan or talks about him you can see how much he loves him.  

"Thank you" I replied walking over to them and giving both of them a huge hug.

Clive's POV

Stephanie looked so excited about going shopping for Nathan's birthday and I have to admit that it was rubbing off on me. I don't usually like shopping but Stephanie somehow manages to make most things fun. I looked at Nathan in my arms and then at my beautiful fiancé, I could swear he had her eyes but she always objected saying he looks like me.

"Come on lets go" I said smiling at Stephanie before pressing my lips against hers. She returned my kiss lovingly and I'm sure the kiss would have led to a more romantic situation if Nathan didn't make his presence known.

"Mamma!" He yelled in his cute little voice as he reached up with his hand and placed it on Stephanie's face causing both of us to laugh.

Stephanie quickly packed a bag for Nathan and then we left. I took them to a coffee shop in the mall for breakfast and then we set off to do some serious baby shopping.
