Secrets

Okay, whoever has been reading my story here is chapter 5!! It's dedicated to my newest fan who wanted to know what's Scar's secret.....But it's just a hint....

-SCARLET’S POV- (AFTER SHE LEFT)

I couldn’t believe I actually yelled at Chris like that! I felt so horrible but, then again, it’s not my fault. He was questioning me on why I act the way I do. I can’t let my secret out, especially to Chris. God! If he found out he would have never talked to or even acknowledged me again. None of them would. I had to meet up with Josh and Paul to talk.

As I got into my car my phone started ringing. My alert was on high when I saw that the caller was unknown. “H-hello?” I stuttered. Why am I stuttering?! It's just a damn unknown number Scar. Get a grip!!!

“Hello, Scarlet.” 

“Who’s this?” I said, speaking my thoughts.

“That doesn’t matter right now. All that matters right now is that I have a special job for you.” said the voice, I still didn’t know who this was all I could tell is that it was a man with a deep voice.

“Are you still there?” he asked, dragging me out of my thoughts.

“Go on.”

“Your qualifications and previous jobs have convinced me that your are the perfect one for this assignment.”

“How do you know about my previous missions? They are supposed to be confidential.” 

“Let’s just say I have my ways.” He said. I could imagine him smirking.

“What is this... job?” I said. I was extremely curious as to what this job was.

“ Your assignment, if you choose to accept it, would be to track down and kill someone." Really? Doesn't he know I'm retired? 

He took my silence as indecisiveness. "I would understand if you chose to decline, seeing that you have been retired for some time now. You might not be as good as you once were. One might say that you've gotten rusty." Did he just diss me? 

I sighed, “Look buddy, I may be retired, but that doesn't mean that I'm not up to the challenge."

"I take that as a yes."

“By the way, who is this person you want me to kill?”

“Her name is Samantha.” Please don't let it be...

“Is that all? No last name, middle, or anything else you can give me?” I silently prayed hoping it wasn't who I thought it was.

He gave a long sigh. I think I aggravated him. Comeuppance! "Her FULL name is Samantha Alley Veronica Walter Delemaunt.” Crap! What am I going to do?

“Why do you need me to do this?”

“That’s none of your concern."

“I’ll see what I can do.”

“Very good, Miss Scar. I trust you won't disappoint me. Goodbye."

Then I remembered, I didn’t even know his name. “By the way what's your name?”

“Just call me sir, for now.”

“Yes, sir.” Then I ended the phone call.

Damn it! What am I going to do? I still have to find a way for Chris not to find out about me and  I have to kill Sam! Now I have to meet up with Josh and Paul. When did my life get so fucked up?
