It took 3 days, but it finally happened. I was at Noah’s house, ‘tutoring’ him. I don’t really see a point in actually tutoring him if he’s failing on purpose. I know you might be thinking, ‘But isn’t her life on the line if she doesn’t get his grades up?’, but if all goes well, that won’t matter. If I get to become the leader, then that won’t matter, as long as we take them down before my month time limit is up.
“So, what do you want to do now?” I asked
“Well, I’m always up for a good make-out.” He suggested, smirking slightly
“No! You’ve suggested that every time I’ve been over! I’ve got my Other Half!” I yelled, but secretly wishing that we could. Why wouldn’t I? I mean, who wouldn’t? He’s absolutely gorgeous. And to make it even better, he makes me happy.
“Avory, you say you’re completely against The Society and their rules, yet you refuse to break them. I just don’t understand.” He muttered. Does he really want to kiss me? Or is this just another way to get back at The Society?
“It’s not that. It’s just that I’ve been friends with Xavier since third grade. I’m just too close to him to hurt him, you know?” I bent my head down, not wanting to make eye contact with him. Noah’s not exactly the kind of guy you share your feelings with, or anything close to feelings. He may have comforted me once, but I bet he wouldn’t dare do it again.
“So, you would kiss me, but only if you didn’t have your Other Half?” He inquired. Crap! I hadn’t meant to hint at that.
“Uh, maybe. I don’t know. What do you say we play a game?” Hoping I successfully changed the subject off of me wanting to kiss him, I smiled.
“Okay. Twenty Questions. We can ask anything, and you have to answer it, no matter how ridiculous.” He stated
“Okay. Me first. When did you first realize you wanted to be a rebel?”
“Probably when we got in high school. I was just old enough to realize things weren’t right. Students would be there one day, then be gone the next. I later figured out that it was The Society and decided I would never follow their rules. How about you?”
“For me, I think it was when I was younger. My mother would tell me tales about when she was pregnant with me -I mean us. She would tell me that my brother and I would kick all night long, and even though she knew she was going to have to get rid of one of us, she still got close to us and savored the time she had. I realized then that it shouldn’t be like that.” I wiped a tear from my eye while Noah sat there uncomfortably.
“You forgot to ask a question.” He said nervously, obviously not wanting to upset me further
“Right. Um, I’ll skip this one. You ask.”
“When did you realize that you like me?” He smirked. My eyes widened in horror as I stared at him. He couldn’t possibly know that I like him, could he? No! Not possible!
“Wh-What are you talking about?” I stuttered
“I knew it! You so like me, so why don’t you just kiss me?”
“Maybe I don’t want to kiss you, Noah. Don’t be so full of yourself. Why would I want to kiss the guy that said he had no hope in me? The guy that said I couldn’t do it? Huh? What makes you think I would want to kiss you?” I shouted. I honestly didn’t mean to shout, quite the opposite really. I meant for it to be a whisper, but it came out louder than expected. He just had that effect on me. I mean to do one thing, but I do the complete opposite when around him. That boy was doing things to my brain, things I’m not so sure I liked.
“Whoa! Avory, calm down! It was just a joke. I didn’t mean anything by it.” He held up his hands in an attempt to show me that he didn’t mean any harm.
Suddenly, something came over me. I’m still to this day not sure what it was that made me do it, but I kissed him. Full on kissed him. It took him a moment to realize what was going on, but he eventually responded by lightly licking my bottom lip, asking for entrance. I opened my mouth slightly, and he forced his tongue, opening it the rest of the way.

I jumped and pulled away, while Noah answered the phone.
