Prologue

Hey so this is my newest book. It's kinda like divergent but I changed some stuff up. Hope you enjoy!

So I'm just gonna start off with kind an explaining chapter like who's who and what's what.

So there are 4 sections (kinda like factions if you've read divergent) and when you turn 18 you are claimed by one depending on your talents and what you've accomplished so far in life.

Each section has a different opinion on where they are supposed to live and depending on their opinion that's where they live (Vidan has their own area to live). All sections go to the same school until you are claimed.

When you are claimed you receive a power. What power you get depends on what section claimed you.

Everyone has one specific person who they fall in love with. It's impossible to love anyone else. That person is called your mate (creative huh?). When you get married to this person you go to the faction that the male lives in. Once you've seen your mate you can stay away but if you stay away long enough you'll die. You need your mate. If you are stuck with a crappy mate you have to suck it up.

Here are the sections and what they believe:

Ourlayne(our-lane). They believe water to be the place to live. When you are claimed there you are given the power to breath underwater and turn into any marine animal. If you are born there then you still breath underwater. If you are born there and leave water you can't breath underwater anymore. So until you are claimed you have to stay in water.

Jalgid(jal-gid). They believe land to be the place to live. When claimed you receive powers to change into any animal. You cannot turn take the form of a human being other than yourself.

Baylin (bay-lyn). They believe the sky to be the place to live. All who live there can fly until you are claimed. When you are claimed you can turn into any animal that can fly. If you are claimed by a section other than the one you were born into you lose you ability to fly.

Vidan (vy-dan). They believe that you should be able to live anywhere. That means they live in an area that has water land and air. Not many people are there because only people who aren't claimed by the other sections go there. Anyone who is claimed here receives the power to change into anything. Except other human beings.

All the sections are at peace (for now)

Main characters:

Willow (Will). She has long blonde hair with barely noticeable white streaks. She is small as in she is skinny and short. The only thing that stops people from calling her ugly is her bright blue eyes.

She only has two things she is afraid of: heights and drowning.

The things she loves are plants and animals. Basically everything nature related.

She is 17 at the beginning of the book.

She lives in Jalgid.

Link. He has black curly hair. It's kinda long but not super long and is definitely not a mullet. His eyes are dark brown and kind looking. He is built like Thor but has darker skin. He has too many fears to count but he's tough and is able to control that fear.

Link lived on the streets until he was claimed by Vidan because no one else wanted him.

Saphire. She is the weirdest of the three. She was born with bright blue hair. Her eyes are also blue but with flecks of red around her pupils. She lives in Ourlayne and is currently 17. She is besties with willow.

She is scared of nothing and has a thing for baby animals.

So that's all there really is to it. I might add in a couple minor characters but I'll describe the in the story. I hope this didn't bore you to death. I'll write soon.
